He's going to have to block some.  The team isn't going to trot him on the field only in 3rd and long situations.  Grated, he's a pass cathcing TE, but even those guys have to do some dirty work now and again.

Yeah sure a little but that's not why they signed him. Check out this stat from last season

Field Position

  G REC YDS AVG LNG TD 1st 1st% 20+ 40+
Own 1-20 - by Yard Line   1 9 9 9 0 0 0 0 0
Own 21-50 - by Yard Line   12 226 18.8 59 1 10 83.3 4 1
Opp 49-20 - by Yard Line   13 185 14.2 41 0 10 76.9 4 1
Opp 19-1 - by Yard Line   5 18 3.6 8 3 4 80 0 0

Look at those 1st down numbers! He's a chain mover!!

Best signing outside of Reddick tbh.

I liked Moore too--you have to let the Huddle comics post their ???? comments. They would turn down a date with Barbara Fialho because they have never heard of her.

Then the analysis starts.  Very nice signing.

Yes it is. Usually I feel like we've always just signed players because we need a player at X position. Now, I feel we are signing players because we need a player at X position that can do Y and Z. Very different mentality to me. Me likey

    • I mean, I think you're being a little hyperbolic with the last statement, but point taken.
    • Pass rush was the biggest issue in tonight’s game, and we were tied for 28th in sacks this season. That is a major area of need that has to get addressed this offseason. I just don’t see a path where there’s a game changing QB you can bring in with where we are drafting and quality of veterans that will be available. We certainly can do better than Dalton as a backup, and should ideally have a developmental guy  (perhaps a day 3 pick this year). We have bryce for one more year on a reasonable contract and then I think 2027 is the year that you reset that position (unless he massively improves).
    • Agreed, honestly basically bringing this group back as a healthy unit would be alright.  Brady Christensen should be resigned to a very reasonable deal with him recovering from the Achilles.  Atleast we're alright at 4 of our 5 spots with Lewis, Mays, Hunt, and Moton, Nijman was decent.  While if we can snag a deal on someone, take a stab, however our resources need to go to Linebacker, Pass Rush and a real option outside Tmac (coker is amazing, but if we can get someone who isnt braindead opposite Tmac, we can fully unleash Coker AND Tmacs full potential, cant move him into the slot if racoon boy is out there licking doorknobs).
