What was the boldest move this franchise has made?

I swear the panthers must have the weakest free agent history in the NFL? Please someone name another team worse than the panthers in free agency. Best we got is semi-old OG Matt Wahle, Ken " What youd say about money -Smitty " Lucas, and a past prime Reggie White. God dam its pathetic. fuging Matt Kalil feels like hes in the top five, what a joke in 26 years this is.

Fritterer fix this!!!!

Not diving on a fumble in the Super Bowl. Or is that the opposite of bold?

If you listen to the in game audio it didn't matter if he fell on it or not, we weren't going to win. Cam started pouting in the 2nd quarter and that's when it was over. It sort of made me sick hearing Luke and TD trying to rally the troops while Cam just sat on the bench staring off in to space with his lip hanging on the ground.

Our best FA move has to be signing Jake.

Why does everyone forget about Stephen Davis and how important he was? Also guys like Ricky Proehl. Sam freakin' Mills & Kevin Greene, Wesley Walls. Steve Beurelein exceeded expectations. John Kasay -- spare me the out of bounds kick in the SB, he's a Panthers Legend. We don't hit on a ton of Free Agents, but we did have some good ones.

Yea Davis gave the panthers a good 1 and half seasons. Kevin was only two season late in his career. Walls and Kasay are panthers legends(tho kicker is.....). I still believe the panthers free agency history is BY FAR the worst one over the last 26 years. Cat bro down south had much better names and success. Browns had some panthers like free agency. You did improve, still farrrr behind the other 31 teams. Panthers focused on resigning players form 7-9 teams.

Think about the BIG name free agent pickups......The two are Ken Lucas and Matt Wahle. Not late in career or blossomed after a cheap deal. Big names..... just those two in prime career points.

I'm not debating whether we have had very lackluster free agents, but the examples of the best we've had being Wahle, Lucas, and end of career Reggie. I agree completely about the lack of splashes, and it's usually due to mismanaged cap preventing us from making many bigger signings.

That was my point about panthers free agent history. Walls was still finding himself and was not elite til years later. Panthers never land a big fish, for whatever reasons. Matt Kalil is 3rd on the list it feels. Geene, White, Davis, and a few others were way past their primes (but at least names normies knew.)

"Elite" players in their prime, its been pure pathetic 26 year history for the panthers signing them. One of the two was an OG when that spot was below RB and even safety in value terms, PATHETIC!

Drafting Clausen to put ourselves in a position to get either Andrew Luck or Cam Newton. That was some 4d chess, and you rarely see an organization make a move that ballsy today, much less have it pay off!

Too bad the current regime was too stupid to use Grier as our new “Clausen”

    • I’m an optimist thru and thru. I love any win this team can muster, and Bryce did what he could to keep the team in it, but he’s why the team was out of it to begin with.  I like the guy, but he is not… he’s just not it… and I was swayed by the way he finished last season, but his physical limitations will never be overcome. A one arm tackle stopped him in his tracks en route for 6, among several other plays where an even average starter in the league succeeds.  A franchise QB is supposed to be his own cheat code. Bryce needs a cheat code dude, that is not him, to win. Chuba CARRIED (literally) his ass last season. Thielen bailed him out EVERY game he played in last season. Today: Rico turned in one of the best games in franchise history, Tet was unguardable and put up at least 100 yards on his own (PI yards included),  and the defense basically pitched a shutout after going down big so they could beat one of the worst teams in the NFL.
    • Jimmy came thru today I hope he is active next week   (2) NFL on X: "Bryce Young to Jimmy Horn Jr. on 4th down! MIAvsCAR on FOX/FOX One https://t.co/HkKw7uXVnt https://t.co/FYOfsxtAMk" / X
    • Rico 10000% saved Bryce Young from being benched for the Dallas game.  The way that game was going there was going to be no way to trot Bryce out next week at home if it kept going like it did.  Bryce probably is safe from bench risk until the next home and home presents itself.    He can’t be playing bad going into that next Atl game and then lay an egg in it.
