At this point, either would be good but I think Slater is probably the better choice for us right out of the box. Sewell has massive potential but he needs more coaching and experience. Slater started as a freshman and has effectively played left and right sides.

Honestly, I think with Sewell you work up to getting Taylor Moton type work from him. Slater may work up to Jordan Gross level. We'd be sitting pretty if that is the case.

If somehow Pitts falls and he's still there at 8, I'm still thinking we take a hard look at snagging a game-changer TE. Then again, who knows who may fall to #8... it's not as far down the list as we sometimes think. Darnold could be the bridge guy and we take a QB.

Things sure got a lot harder to predict yesterday.

Pitts might be the best player in the Draft.

I still think he's a Flex-TE, but in terms of the mismatches he's going to bring he's potentially very special.

I still think SF goes with Jones.  If they do not, Cincy and Miami get offers from Denver, NE, Wash, etc.

Which means 5 QBs gone.

Fitterer stated that there is a top level--that ends about halfway through every draft---with 5 QBs going in the top 10, that is likely to be about 18 players---12-13 non QBs.

So you inspired me to rank them.  Yes, I will do it for free.

These are rankings  based on their potential impact as football players, barring all team needs:

1.  Penei Sewell:  You have to consider the position and the rarity of elite talent there.  Sewell is not only the best player at his position, he is the best player at LT--since Joe Thomas. 

2.  Kyle Pitts:  Almost as rare at his position (they will probably have to create a new position for Pitts) Pitts hit the NFL at the right time, when the once devalued TE is becoming loved again, because he is a matchup nightmare.  His hands, speed, and size make him unmistakably the best TE to come out in a long time.

STOP.  To me--the elite players in this draft--the "once in a decade" players--stop here.  So I will list the rest of the top shelf players, without explanation  after some Chase comments--he nearly made the "once in a decade" cut.  One or two will surprise you. 

3. Ja'Marr Chase: Normally, a good QB can make a WR better; this WR makes the QB better.  Average sized, he is able to not only make a play on the bad throw, but he has the ability to do something with it after the catch.  It is hard to pinpoint what makes him better than the other great WRs--his nonverbal communication with the QB, his body control, his big play ability--yes to all.  He is going to be great.

5. Micah Parsons LB

6.  Jaylen Waddle WR

7.  Patrick Surtain III CB (Damn, Bama)

8.  Rashawn Slater T/G  (I am not sold on the LT talk--he would be a great G)

What’s your hesitation about Slater at LT? I’m not good at judging o-line, so I have to lean on “draft experts”. Curious what’s holding you back?

not sure why you think slater isnt as capable LT. 

both him and sewell have shortish arms (around 33)

slater has better feet and balance.

      Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.

      I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football

      I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
