Who’s eligible for Hard Knocks in 2021?

1. Dallas Cowboys

2. New York Giants

3. Denver Broncos

4. Arizona Cardinals

5. Carolina Panthers

A 2021 appearance on Hard Knocks by the Carolina Panthers could turn second-year head coach Matt Rhule into a superstar. He possesses an infectious personality that appears to resonate well with both players and the media. HBO’s crew may also hone in on the trade for Sam Darnold instead of drafting a quarterback and what that means for the franchise (and Darnold).

The Panthers also have a few potential defensive stars in pass rusher Brian Burns and safety Jeremy Chinn. It would be interesting to see if they can pull some personality from a few young playmakers on the roster.

Jacksonville Jaguars (Bonus team)

I thought teams with 1st year head coaches weren’t allowed to be chosen? That would exclude the Jags since Urban is taking over this year.

Dallas has to be the choice for ratings.

The writer of the atricle added the Jaguars. I don't think they're actually in the running for it

They can still do it, they just can’t be forced into doing it.

Gotta be Jacksonville, right?  With Lawrence, Meyer and The Golden Calf of Bristol-mania in town I can't see how HBO would pass up that opportunity.  Although I think we are probably a close second.  Id love to see us on the show.  Amazons All-In was awesome when we were on it.

Edit:  Actually I was not aware that teams with first year coaches were ineligible to be on the show, so maybe we really will land it?

Sorry, does anyone actually fuggin' care about Hard Knocks? Has any team actually benefited from the exposure?

I enjoy hard knocks, and I dont think im one of a few. It is pretty awesome to see what happens in the locker rooms and behind the scenes of an NFL franchise.

Every team is "eligible."  But if no team volunteers to do it, the NFL can force a team to do it.  They said to eliminate yourself from being forced to do it, you either need to have a 1st year head coach or have made the playoffs in one of the last couple of years.

    • Even all the rookie QB's who haven't played a single snap ranked above him? I really hope Bryce is using all this as motivation in some capacity. Because if this doesn't motivate him I don't know what will.
    • Of course. That’s what I said. Bad goalie play and the style of defense. Florida played amazing.  Rods decision to stick with a struggling Freddie cost us. Plus, Florida may be more talented than us and they play a very heavy game. Something we don’t do well minus Svech.  Glad the rangers lost.
    • You should because before the preseason fiasco and the start of the season fiasco, all the reports, including Frank’s responses, were that Fitterer and Reich were in lock step. Remember the press conference where Fitterer talked about both he and Frank saying who they wanted before and after the draft process and that they both picked Young and it was glorious? People got hung up on Tepper saying the point guard analogy in April when Brown was interviewed by a Panthers reporter describing how a QB needs to be a point guard in huge detail. That was in February. I think Tepper was just parroting Brown to make himself look like he knew what he was doing. Mrs. Tepper hugging Bryce always overshadowed CJ saying how he called her Mama Tepp. We fuged up as a team, probably more so because Fitterer always said he had Young as his #1 the year before, probably because we looked at all the QBs that year as well. Reich’s love for CJ started when he got on the hot seats for frankly doing a horrific job. He's been in the league a long time and has a lot of media friends and that was a face saving CYA which we know well with many years of Hurney. Still amazing to think how much better the team was under Rhule/Hurney before Fitterer got any control when Rhule was on the hot seat.
