Projected Roster Changes (Upgrades???) on Offense from 202- to 2021

So here is a list of the potential changes to our starting lineup from last year on offense. I am not listing a complete roster just the changes to the starting lineup based on losses to Free Agency. I am also identifying each change as and upgrade or downgrade IMO- Feel free to tell me What you think about my evaluations!

Offense

QB- Sam Darnold replaces Teddy Bridgewater (Not Sure- Lots of potential Good and Bad, but I think its at least a slight upgrade)

LT- Cam Erving, D. Daley, Trent Scott or B. Christensen replaces Russell Okung/ Trent Scott (Downgrade- I think Okung played pretty well, he just did not play often enough--we have no idea who is going to win this battle so its hard to call it an upgrade)

LG- Pat the Elf, Deonte Brown, Dennis Daley, Brady Christensen or David Moore replaces Chris Reed (Slight Upgrade- Reed really struggled I think whoever win this battle will be better)

TE- Dan Arnold and Tommy Tremble replace Chris Manhertz and Ian Thomas (Significant Upgrade---everyone knows this position did not help us in many games last season)

WR3- David Moore, Terrence Marshall, Shi Smith and whoever else cracks the roster replaces Curtis Samuel (Slight Upgrade- I'm not saying anyone of these guys will produce as much as Curtis did, but I do believe that as a rotation we will get a lot of production from our 3rd and 4th receivers- Marshall will help us in the Red Zone and Moore can get behind defenses and Darnold has the arm to get him the battle. These guys should see a lot of single coverage)

FB- Tommy Tremble and Maybe Mikey Daniel or M. Stoke replace Alex Armah (slight upgrade- This was hard for me to call because I liked Armah and he was good in special teams but I really like Tremble ability to move defenders of their spot and his potential to catch passes out of the backfield)

Disagree on LT and FB.  First, okung started 7 games and didn't finish 2 of those.  Trent Scott started the majority if the remaining 9, hard to say its a downgrade, if anything its lateral.

For FB, thats a downgrade.  Armah was a beast at FB, problem is its a dying position.  I do think tremble will be good, but from the FB position, he won't be armah good.

Didn't play offense.  And didn't play at all last year.  Your post is confusing man.  It's like a puzzle trying to determine the point of it. 🤔

He’s the neighborhood troll now. He enjoys being a little stormy cloud

Isn’t there changes at RG too?

At this point, I'm not sure anyone is certain what week 1 let alone week 4 oline looks like.  There's even talk of moving Moton.  We brought two in FAs and 3 rookies...mix in some mediocre vets, 1 solid who wants LT money,  and you have a dogfight.

Yeah left tackle was a revolving door

Scott started the Bucs2, Lions, Packers and WFT

LIttle started Falcons2, Cardinals, Chargers

Daley started  Chiefs game but exited the game and LIttle finished.

(We almost beat the Chiefs with Daley and LIttle at LT)

Okung started 7 games

I'm missing one.

I think the competition at LT is going to make that position strong.  Probably not as strong as it was when Okung was healthy, but stronger than it was when he wasn't.

There’s no dogfight. It’s pretty clear what the OL needs to look like.

LT Moton, LG Christensen, C Moore, RG Brown, RT Morgan Moses

Whether that will happen or not, idk.

Ok, I'll bite.

Looking at your line...its pretty bold.  We might bring somebody in, people have said that.

Moton might win LT...I know we've tried it before but maybe it will stick this time.

Gross started at RT I think.

I agree with the attitude that Erving and Eiflin are depth pieces.

That's bold with 3 rookies in the middle though.

....an UDFA rookie at center...I just don't see that happening this season.

Its not bold its bull poo.

Moton is nearing All-Pro status at RT.  Moving him weakens 2 spots on the line.

Gross did play '03 at RT. Only b/c he was a top-10 pick and could ball.  We had a LT at the time.  Gross was to replace Steussie. Which he did the following year. Rookie tackles weren't usually tossed in the starting lineup back then.  Especially LT.

Erving and Eflein seem like fit signings.  The staff saw something they think they can use.  They weren't brought in on hopes and prayers.

Money dictates who will start the season at C.  We have players with some skill that can hold off a UDRFA challenger.

This is how I see it to start the season:

Christensen - (Daley/Eflein)- Paradis - (Eflein/Daley) - Moton

Brady goes to LT for 2 reasons, he's listed on the team site as a T and Rhule said whoever they drafted in the 3rd round needed to be a day 1 starter.

They brought back John Miller who started there last year. I focused on positions where we lost last seasons starter. It is true Miller may lose the job in camp but I'm not certain of it.

I appreciate the effort and the share.  I think our offense with CMC on the field upgrades every position, but I do not see the how LT can be a downgrade when we had so much salary on the bench.  See, I look at it this way--if we can stay the same (talent) at a position and cut the salary by 50%, we are better at another position (in terms of salary).  For example, if we can get something out of Daley at LT, and 15 games from him at his salary is better than 7 games of Okung at his salary, and we get the $$$ savings to sign a player like Arnold and and Moore.

By the way, LG was our biggest problem last year.  By far.
