5 Timid Predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2021

I think the main steps they took were in relation to depth, IMO. I can't say that we got better on paper across the starting OL. It's possible that the combination of FA signings and draft picks are able to mesh into an above average starting unit but it isn't anything I would bet on before the season.

I just hope however good or bad they are, we can stay healthier. We got a lot of guys in that unit that have suspect injury histories.

Like I said, baby steps.

It is possible the unit could be above average, but expect about the same you saw last year from the OL which is mediocracy (outside of moton).

I expect a few position groups to make a leap this year (CB, TE, DL), but 2022 I expect the team as a whole will take a leap. That may be bold, but rhule is a 3/4 year rebuild coach. That may be at the college level, but I think his system of revamping culture's will do us justice.

My Predictions;

1. Teddy B. will lose his job as starting QB for the Panthers

2. Our LT play will continue to suck and numerous Huddlers will point this out every week (Me Included)

3. We will play one more game than we did last year, even if we don't make the playoffs

4. Darnold will not start all 17 games this year

5. Our TE's will catch more passes than last year

My easiest predictions:

1. At least one thread on why we should have kept Teddy.

2. At least one thread on why we should have drafted Fields.

3. At least one thread about David Newton reporting on Darnold’s updated furniture situation.

4. At least one DJ Moore gets no respect/is underrated thread.

5. At least one we are drafting a LT in 2022 thread.

I mean, we could probably start #5 now.....

1. players will have their option of water or a flavored sports beverage to cool themselves when they come off the field.

2. water and tasty sports beverages will be made available to players on the field during a break.

3. towels will be used to wipe sweat off the faces of both active and inactive players

4. sir purr will sweat in his costume

5. at least one top cat will squirt out a juicy sweat fart in the southern heat.

In no particular order:

1. Sam Darnold will be okay. Leaving the door open for drafting a QB in 2022.

2. Teddy will start in Denver and be decidedly average, leaving the door open for Denver drafting a QB in 2022.

3. Denver and Carolina will have a similar W/L record

4. Carolina will win 6-7 games, winning a few early to get the hope up, and then having it stomped away with a tougher 2nd half schedule.

5. Darnold will look better than the record indicates in the 2nd half, after struggling a bit with the offense in the 1st half of the season.

This is a great idea.

CMC will juke defenders.

The Oline will have injuries.

Each sack and interception will generate Huddle "I told you so" posts

David Newton will tweet when Darnold gets the 2nd half of his couch.

Each Sunday I'll be with my son, beer in hand,  watching the Panthers battle.

Darnold will throw at least 1 TD and 1 INT this season.

Shaq Thompson will both make and miss a TFL.

Joey Slye will attempt at least 5 FGs

Offense will punt on 4th down an overwhelming majority of the time.

CMC catches more than 10 passes

“Terrance” Marshall echos thru the huddle for generations.

1. Sam Darnold wins the starting QB job.

2. Horn becomes the week 1 starter

3. Brown with continue to get pressure while demanding double teams in which the Huddle will complain about his sack total.

4. CMC will make the Pro Bowl

5. Trainwreck will lose his poo every time Fields scores a TD, no matter how well Darnold is playing.

6. Sizzle will get a semi if Darnold struggles and use it for trolling material.

@SizzleBuzz, be honest.

You'd troll regardless.   It's how you roll.  😄

Way to go out on a limb there.   🤨

1. Sam will play well but will still be mocked here just 'cause he's not Justin Fields

2. The O-Line will play better than expected

3. The Offense will be more explosive

4. Jaycee Horn will get a whole bunch of PICKS his 1st season

5. CMC will stay healthy and run wild

Honorary mentions :

1. Certain posters here will ridicule any new Panthers fans, and accuse them of being "Fake Fans".

2. See #1

3. CP will still talk about PJ starting.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
