Scenario plays out that OKC will give us 16 and 18 for 11..

Would you do it?? 

I say hell yes.. Depending on who might be there at 11 of course.. If Barnes drops no chance get him.. But if you have your choice of Moody or Bouknight (who I love).. Then just drop and you might end up with a combo of Duarte or Springer with Jackson (not high on but others like him) Jones or Sengun.. Which I will take in a heart beat..

I'm all for trading down in the NFL draft.. the NBA draft is a different game and the talent is always closer to the top

Tiers:
1-4 = C.Cunningham, E.Mobley, J.Green, J.Suggs

5-10 = S.Barnes, J.Kuminga, M.Moody, K.Johnson, J.Bouknight, D.Mitchell

11-18 = J.Giddy, F.Wagner, K.Jones, J.Johnson, C.Kispert, A.Sengun, I.Jackson, C.Duarte

I'm a fan of the bolded guys the most.. If someone from the 2nd tier drops down to #11 - you take him.. if not, then maybe you think about trading down to #16 & 18

If Mitch likes a combo of these 3rd tier players and does something like this - In Mitch I Trust

Absolutely I would consider it.  Depends on who is available but I don't see a ton of difference between 11 and 16 in this draft.  Moody would be difficult to pass on though.  

This has crossed my mind in a trade with the Knicks as I wasn’t aware OKC had two choices even higher.

If that netted us Duarte and maybe Jackson or Jones as developmental bigs I feel that would be a big win for us.

Jackson needs a ton of development but if he adds weight and develops offensively I think he can be a great defender and help a team later.  Athleticism is there.

Not a big fan of trading down in the NBA draft especially if it means leaving the lottery. The long term benefit is worse if you trade back.

Let's say we traded pick 11 to OKC for picks 16 & 18. Statistically speaking, based on Historical data:

You have a 51% chance of a guy you pick between 6-14 becoming a productive starter for you

You have a 49% chance of a guy you pick between 15-30 becoming a productive rotation player (not starter) for you

Conversely the odds of the guy you pick between 6-14 becoming a productive rotation player is 85%. Much higher chance of hitting.

If you take two guys between 15-30, the odds of both guys becoming productive rotation players is 25%

 

So basically - don't trade pick 11 to move back in the draft unless a proven player is part of the return package. With the NBA, it makes way more sense to take the best chance at a sure thing. It's just different from the NFL that way.

I'd stay put at 11 if I were Mitch.

Kinda agree here as we need a big and the choices are limited in this draft.  I might consider using the pick to trade for a big as another option as well.

      Pass rush was the biggest issue in tonight’s game, and we were tied for 28th in sacks this season. That is a major area of need that has to get addressed this offseason. I just don’t see a path where there’s a game changing QB you can bring in with where we are drafting and quality of veterans that will be available. We certainly can do better than Dalton as a backup, and should ideally have a developmental guy  (perhaps a day 3 pick this year). We have bryce for one more year on a reasonable contract and then I think 2027 is the year that you reset that position (unless he massively improves).

      Agreed, honestly basically bringing this group back as a healthy unit would be alright.  Brady Christensen should be resigned to a very reasonable deal with him recovering from the Achilles.  Atleast we're alright at 4 of our 5 spots with Lewis, Mays, Hunt, and Moton, Nijman was decent.  While if we can snag a deal on someone, take a stab, however our resources need to go to Linebacker, Pass Rush and a real option outside Tmac (coker is amazing, but if we can get someone who isnt braindead opposite Tmac, we can fully unleash Coker AND Tmacs full potential, cant move him into the slot if racoon boy is out there licking doorknobs).
