It probably won't be until closer to the end of camp, but I'll be nervous every day we're practicing on the far fields. It seems like we lose someone to an ACL every year on that practice field.

I was there the day a safety broke his hip bone in TC.  You could literally hear it snap.  The screaming was heart-wrenching. It was Charles Godfrey or Dion Grant, I can't remember...

I'm not 100% certain they will be practicing anywhere but Gibbs stadium this year. Not sure.

I was there in the 2016 training camp when TD and Ryan were going at it in a drill and Kalil hurt his shoulder. Outside of my posting about it, I don’t remember much news on it. That was the start of the end for him. He missed 18 games in 2016/2017 and gutted out 2018 before finishing missing 9 games in his last year. That was the start of the OL injury fest of 2016. I knew it was bad because Kalil was off by himself with the trainer on the far field and TD ran over to check on him again after a bit. I think he missed the rest of the pre-season and started week 1, but only made it 6 full weeks and then played 1 more partial game.

I looked it up; it was Grant back in rookie season in 2000.  They thought he would never play another down in football. Luckily he made it a back and had a decent career playing for several different teams.

Yeah, training camp injuries suck and we are due for one or more every camp; one of which is usually a starter.  KK was last year.  Ryan had a pretty clean injury history until then and was never the same afterwards.

    • Yea I have it.  When it flares it can be very severe.  I had an extended hospitalization a couple years ago and it took a while to recover.  Can’t imagine trying to deal with that as a pro athlete.  It’s hard enough as a desk jockey.
    • I think the difference is that The Golden Calf of Bristol and Cam were just big personalities with big time talent (The Golden Calf of Bristol just lacked any consistency, leading to most of us hating him because it felt like he pulled big plays out of his ass). Sanders is a good talent who is completely full of himself and the ego feels unearned. You should WANT to change the bad culture of the losing franchise you expect to go to as a top pick...but that's a thing you keep to yourself or articulate well enough that it doesn't come off as "we're doing poo my way, if you don't like that, don't draft me".  You don't create an entire room touting yourself as legendary when you did absolutely nothing legendary at the collegiate level. Nobody is going to be fondly remembering Shadeur Sanders the college QB. Johnny Football is there, Cam is there, Vince Young is there, RGIII is there, The Golden Calf of Bristol is there.   Sanders needs humility and to pry himself away from his father. His father is going to tank his career before it is even started.    Sanders may bounce around the league as a backup for a few years, he'll play in select games and look like a backup but he'll have that one game where he pops off and that game will be used to say "see?! He's great!" and then he'll get the start and never live up to that game again.
    • This came up from out of nowhere and sent me down a hole of FNM.   Dudes were amazing and Angel Dust was just peak
