So truth is stranger than fiction sometimes:  The Panthers look to have one of the best WR groups in the NFL *after* losing Curtis Samuel.  You can't make this stuff up.

The RB that could barely catch a ball properly wasn't a spectacular WR in the NFL? WHAT?

Meh.  He was never that great to begin with.

seth meyers pace yourself GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

Let's let them get some actual games under their belt first. I don't like saddling a bunch of rookies with unfair expectations. Remember it took Samuel a few seasons to really hit his stride.

He has to be motivated or he won’t last long. He was someone I wasn’t excited about at all. He was clearly unmotivated for the Senior Bowl and it showed. He looked like the slowest guy on earth and he sure wasn’t facing Aaron Donald. It was good to hear he lost weight after the Senior Bowl because if he watched himself or his agent was truthful, he would have realized that play would get him released against NFL talent.

Sweet Christ I was reading that as Derrick Brown and was wondering what the hell you were talking about.  Sorry man I see its the kid from bama.  Brain fart

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
