Looking forward to watching the kids fight for their professional lives. Who can excel under pressure, who seems to shy away. I love watching these kids play.

Also, anticipating who will be the first Huddler to say; "Welp, if we're counting on any backups playing. We aren't winning many games.

As mentioned, most of the starters won't play today for the Panthers in Indianapolis. Here's a look at the expected offensive starters: OFFENSE LT Trent Scott LG Matt Kaskey C Sam Tecklenburg RG Deonte Brown RT Brady Christensen TE Tommy Tremble TE Colin Thompson WR Terrace Marshall Jr. WR Brandon Zylstra RB Chuba Hubbard (CHOO-buh) QB PJ Walker

I'm not sure what's so confusing about the situation. We've seen the depth chart. We've seen the starting lineup for today.

He said we wouldn't see starters because they got their reps on Thurs and Friday and cuts are coming early week.

That's what we are seeing happen.

We've heard the reasoning. Doesn't mean anyone is right or wrong yet. It is peculiar though regardless of the scrimmages earlier in the week. Horn isn't going to face a light workload in this division with the likes of Brady and Ryan twice a year.

Big opportunity for Panthers' rookie Chuba Hubbard to step forward in the battle to be Christian McCaffrey's backup at running back. Rodney Smith and Reggie Bonnafon also are in the mix but both are a little banged up. Smith had been getting a lot of second-team reps. Hubbard's most impressive moment during camp may have been on Friday when he made a long kickoff return in a joint practice against the Colts.

I can see that I suppose as he isn't a rook. Yet T Marshall and B Christensen but no J Horn? Agree that preseason is becoming less and less neccessary for risk but if our first rounder can't even see some action why even put either of the first 3 picks out there? We got the Taints week 2 these fellas are going to get tested early.

Meh, I wouldn’t compare those two to horn, horn is gonna have a much bigger impact on the roster than those two. Also,  No one is worried about the taints.

Well they stand in the way of second in the division rn so I assure you someone in Carolina considers them relevant.

I have a great feeling Marshall going make our QBs look great first half, chuba going break +20 yards run...

I really want to see those two in action. Especially Chubba, since he won't see the field much during the season.

    • So from 20-22 of those 14 picks on defense, how many are still on the team. 2. Two whole picks.  2023 2 defensive picks in the 3rd and 5th rounds. Neither on the team.  2024. 2 and 1 on the PS. 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th, round picks used.  2025. 2,3,4 and 5 spent on defense.  The entirety of what we've spent on defense doesn't even equal the one pick we used on Tet in trade value chart for draft pick exchange.  You could argue we spent 30 draft picks on defense but if they were all in the seventh round, the value of those picks is next to nothing in terms of contribution. Day 3 picks rarely make NFL squads. They only make the Panthers because our roster is so threadbare as it is.  Again, we've spent next to nothing on defense in terms of value picks on defense. If you're going to argue we've spent more on defense than we have on offense you're going to have to use a better argument than this.
    • This is the second time someone has thrown Matt Kalil in my face and I am just flabbergasted anyone thinks that is some kind of gotcha. That was always a very stupid decision and a panic move fully created by Dave Gettleman's lack of ability to build an OL through the draft despite his entire persona revolving around hog mollies. And while throwing Matt Kalil in my face you wholly omit the fact that Cam Newton had this team competing in the division with Byron Bell on his left and Nate Chandler on his right. Then we added Amini Silatolu for good measure. Is there a specific reason you're wanting to go back 15 years now? Suddenly you don't want to discuss the amount of money and draft capital we have tied up in this offense present day? If you want to take a stroll down memory lane let's talk turkey. From 1998 to 2013 the Panthers never selected a first round WR in any draft. That's none in fifteen years. FIFTEEN YEARS. Then after drafting Kelvin Benjamin we didn't draft another WR in the first round until 2018.  We have drafted first round WR's in back to back drafts in 2024 and 2025 including at 8th overall for the first time in franchise history. We left the linebacker room to be a complete empty void in order to continue to build up this offense. If you truly see any parallels with our historic investment in the offense present day to past teams you might as well be Mr. Magoo. This was always primarily a defensive team identity wise for the better part of 2 decades and any Panthers fan worth their salt knows this. Why I'm having to argue this with you is absurd.
