Refusing to get a shot in the arm and ended up shooting himself in the foot.

As far as prospective teams go, I think Houston is probably his best bet.

Great point. Houston could use him.

I think Steelers make most sense if they cut Haskins who looks like garbage

I think he ends up with the Steelers (probably the best spot for him) b/c he will have a chance next year if Ben retires

Or the Texans will sign him since Tyrod is going to be their starting QB as of now.  BTW we play them Week 3

I'm surprised by this move. However, it highlights some real discrepancies between how good our fans see him vs how others see him. Two franchises cut him instead of trading him. He took relatively very small contracts to get on a team. He fairly good this preseason but that's now what other's see.

I think most of the Huddle realizes he's done, just a few people in denial left over.

It also highlights the liability of being unvaccinated in the NFL right now. Had Cam not had that recent COVID "misunderstanding" he's probably the week one starter. Instead, the Pats got a glimpse into the future of what having a QB unvaccinated this season is going to lead to and decided to clarify their QB situation. I don't blame them. It's hard to find a bigger Cam fan than me but this is 100% his fault.

If I was Cam, I would retire before playing on that horrible team

I wish Cam would just announce his retirement.  Hate to see the ending get worse and worse.

forget Houston.  Cam's ego and career has already taken a big hit......he would just get murdered in Houston.   He went to NE to prove everyone wrong.  That opportunity doesn't exist in Hou.

I think you're right, although he would have been on a very short leash.  I think Mac was going to start at some point but Cam would have at least been the backup.  Now he's out of a job.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
