Official Saints at Panthers Predictions thread!

I'm sticking with my prediction from the season prediction thread:

Week 2 vs New Orleans Saints - Win (2-0). I predict Winston has a huge game Week 1 and throws 4 TDs with no INTs. Which means, it's quite possible he does the opposite against us the next week. I just think he will be riding high and so he starts the game slinging it. Bottling Kamara will be a problem.

W 24-20

*I believe Winston gets benched for playing poorly, even though the team around him plays well. Gets sat down after his 3rd INT. We still struggle to capitalize on their mistakes because our o-line doesn't perform well. Zane makes all kicks.

Panthers have 4 sacks, that turns Winston back into the old Winston with 5 turnovers.

From NFL: Jameis Winston had 0 giveaways in Week 1 vs GB for the first time since Week 5, 2019. Winston had 6 giveaways in a loss vs CAR in the following game in Week 6, 2019.

I agree with your idea here. The only thing I disagree with is Payton keeping Winston in long enough for him to turn the ball over 5 times. lol! I predict he gets benched after 3.

Panthers have a tough first half and down 17-6. Snow gets aggressive in the second half and creates three turnovers including Horn's first INT. Sam starts clicking and puts up 150 yards with 2 TDS and we have a new hero, Hubbard with a TD and breaks several runs over 20 yards. Throw in some FGs off the cross bar....

Final  33-27

After a particularly nasty block, Tremble starts the Keep Pounding chant that is so loud that no hears Sweet Caroline and heard throughout the CLT for hours.

I'd argue the Saints are better than last year with Famous Jameis beating Aaron Rodgers where the Panties beat who? The Jets...lol... Saints are Super Bowl bound where Carolina probably lands a top 3 pick and just remember you guys gave up your 2nd and 4th for Sam "the loser" Darnold. Games not even close.

Saints - 45

Panties - 6

Panthers score 14 unanswered but can’t come back in time.

Panthers pick off Winston once, only sack twice. Kamara becomes the Panthers kryptonite.

Eberle goes 1/3 on FGs.

Darnold throws 2 TD 1 INT; Looks terrible until the 4th and gets comfortable.

TDs go to Arnold/McCaffrey

Panthers have a significant season ending injury.

Why are you here? Find another team to root for then.

All your posts are constant negativity and pessimism.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
