Time to change things with CMC

Just can't allow the thirty touches a game for CMC anymore. No matter how tough he is, he will be worn down to a nub by the time the stretch run comes and possibly seriously hurt.

The Oline cannot run block for sh%t. They kept a boat load of TE's. So why not go with two TE sets MORE with either Hubbard/Reese to give some run blocking help. You can also use set to decoy run and sent them out to the flat or downfield to loosen up the defense.

They need to change with the situation and this is time to do something that will still give us a running threat and a passing threat when CMC isn't in the game.

It appeared his injury was unrelated to either the turf or too many touches. But whatever.

Exactly. It’s smart to limit some touches but you utilize your best players and the idea his prime window is closing is laughable.

We played a Thursday night game. He had a short week of rest. I feel pretty confident that has much more to do with it. It’s the 3rd game of the season ffs, it’s not like he’s been getting 30 touches for 12 weeks now. It’s been two games lol

How about fifty touches a game....or maybe sixty?....no problem? He is not Superman.

It wouldn’t be the huddle without overreacting.

Dude is two and a half games into the season and he barely played last year and we are boiling it down to his workload? Lmao

Yeah. He gets a lot of touches. He’s our best player. No, that isn’t why he’s hurt.

Teams used to run way more than they do today. Players like Tomlinson, Faulk, Alexander, Holmes did this regularly for years. CMC is young and has not even played much for the last year. We are two games in. This isn’t a workload issue lol

I thought going into the season CMC may end up being a injury prone player. He ends up getting injured and missing a few reps in one game and gets hurt yesterday. With the workload we give him I’m worried if he just isn’t going to make it long in the NFL.

There’s 0% chance his injury isn’t related to work load+short week. Thursday games give no time for recovery. These non contact injuries don’t just fall out of the sky. It’s all related to rest, recovery, diet, genetics, and work load. Unfortunately it appears CMC can’t handle 30 touches a game. So stop doing it

    • This is an evaluation year for Canales and his staff to really see what the roster can do in his system.  Based on the status of our roster, a new regime, the same meddling owner, etc… I have a hard time believing that we’re going to come out and shock the world.  In all likelihood, this season will set us up for the top draft pick in ‘25.  Sadly, that’s my expectation.
