The Cowboys offensive line committed zero penalties

The conspiracy theorist in me wanted to say the game was rigged.

The realist in me knew as soon as I saw Jerome boger was the ref, that game changing errors would happen. They do in every game he refs.  The fact that he still has a job indicates that the nfl doesn't care.

I just hope he is incompetent in both directions but yesterday I don't think he was.

I get the frustration but ultimately we lost to a better opponent. All this talk of bad calls or missed calls makes us sound like Saints fans grasping for excuses. The refs didn't assemble this struggling offensive line. That's all on us. But Rhule has to figure it out. We leaned heavily on our defense the first three games now we have to get this offense going. And tho the line isn't where we need it to be Sam still has to connect on those deep passes or teams will keep teeing off on him 🤷‍♂️

Did we though? We looked like the better team before all the bad calls started and even had the lead at half despite the calls. Our DL was getting to the QB and if he keeps doing desperate things like those blind flips as his arm is being drug on they would lead to turnovers. His TEs were also playing real loose with the football.

Does our defense give up those chunk plays if they are on the field a little less because the refs call a good game? Do they create the holes they create without the holding? Do we pull away in the first half with a fumble recovery and put them into more of a passing game and allow our pass rushers to pin their ears back?

You can’t simultaneously say things like it’s a game of inches and then say that refs don’t change the outcome of games.

I don't think there's a conspiracy here, just an atrocious ref crew.  Still, our lack of halftime adjustments, especially on D, are what cooked us.

If we can sort out the OL and get CMC and some of our D back healthy we will be in a different place.  We are missing like 5 or 6 starters... Including our one superstar.  Imagine the cowboys without Dak... Oh, we don't need to imagine, just look at last year...

Dak came into the league with an elite offensive line, yet they’re just now look really good on offense.  I remember when that disgusting slug drafted Tyron in 2011, he was the highest drafted offensive lineman the cowboys had ever drafted with that owner, and they continued to draft 1st round OL. Tyron was a man among boys when he stepped foot at USC, and he was a stud his first year at Dallas.  Dak was drafted in 2016 (around that?), always had a great line to develop behind.  He didn’t look all that good in 2019 when Sam and the Jets played them.

Point is, a great oline is built through the draft, with first round picks over time….and as they full develop, they can make a 4th round pick (Prescott) or an undrafted QB (Romo) look like winners.

The holding call/non call is very impactful.  That can be called or ignored so easily but is directly related to the outcome of drives.  Holding happens a lot but it is timing on when it is called that is so important.

Dallas was clearly given this advantage in this game over and over.

I just rewatched a handful of random plays and saw cowboys holds on most. lol

They honestly decided before the game the Cowboys line wasn't going to get flagged. Dak and Zeke doing well is great for the NFL's bottom line. I am not kidding, this stuff goes down.

Would be nice to be able to monitor deposit activity in the bank accounts of Jerome's relatives.  Anybody recall a single game that marble-mouth has called fairly against us.

This went way beyond mere incompetence, IMO.

I'm honestly not sure why more teams don't prioritize the OL.  I'm not going to pass judgement on the Fitt+Rhule combo just yet because we had so many holes this offseason, but if it doesn't become their main priority...

I mean I know we were big on CJ and the move makes sense, but it's hard not to feel like the OL is getting neglected relative to DL and CB.

Don’t know if this is just human nature or not but the refs definitely impact the outcome in some of these games.  Bad spots, crucial calls at big time moments and flat out ignoring holds all impact the game.  Once we got down 3 scores I noticed the flags on Dallas started being thrown.  This part is infuriating as the refs are clearly trying to make the final numbers closer now the game isn’t in doubt.

Covered the line, though, didn't they?  That's fine tuning.

They need to do something about holding. It feels like it is the single most inconsistently applied penalty there is, and it is so huge it really destroys drives when it happens... And when it just doesn't at all for one team it let's them neutralize an entire positional unit.

I don't mean this just about the Panthers, either.  There doesn't seem to be any consistency in what is and isn't a hold anymore.

I'm not so sure they don't.

With the number of teams now and the schemes/talent at the college level not being what they used to, building a dominant line is harder than It used to be.

we have to get this offense going

Your points are valid, but keep in mind we did (Sam did) put up 28 on those guys, despite all the bad calls, despite a line made of swiss cheese.  That should win us most games.  They must do more, but I don't think it's entirely accurate to imply they're not "going."  It's early in the season, and our Offense, without CMC, is still a work in progress.
