WRAL (Raleigh) Reporter critical of the OC

A good OC would make the best of who he has and what they do and don't bring to the table, not who the OC wish they had or what the OC wishes they could do.

That's the problem we consistently have here. That was the problem with Chud (who had no situational awareness) or Shula, (who had no idea how to use Chud's playbook and only had a job in the NFL because of his dad), or Norv (who had forgotten how to run an O), or Davidson (who didn't have a clue).

Brady hasn't figured out that you might need to change what you do based on what is happening on the field and who he has at his disposal. In that way he's like Chud trending at the moment towards Davidson.

Yeah when Brady first came he certainly said the right stuff.  They asked him if he was going to run the LSU/Saints offense and he said you have to craft it for what your players do best.

Then in the Philly game he sets up Robby for contested catches.

smh

I’m sure Robbie wasn’t the only route and only read on those plays.

Season 4 Andy GIF by The Office

Whenever I hear the commentators say Brady the next great OC.

Brady wasn't even an OC in LSU. Something tells me Brady wasn't that responsible for Burrows success. Panthers really need to consider a change at the end of this season if Brady doesn't improve. Which since we are having the same problems as last year makes me think he won't improve.

So what you are saying is Brady will undeservedly get a head coaching job and then get fired within one year?

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
