Tepper seems to be pretty much in on the "win now" mode

So he's pretty much Michael Jordan when Kemba was a young player and the Hornets signed Big Al to cut short the rebuild since MJ didn't like losing. This in turn set the team back several more years and they finally seem to be on the right path.

Running back one thing. Face of a franchise? Completely different. Sorry, I just don’t feel comfortable signing a guy that has multiple accusations against him. Especially something of this caliber.  I don’t care how good he is.

RB? Tony DeAngelo of the Hurricanes.

Might want to do a little research about his past. Not at the level of what Watson is but definitely not a good look.

Now, that said, he publicly has been remorseful, has a REAL cheap salary(low risk) and he has been playing well for us.

Sorry I just saw deangelo and thought of our running back. Working 2 weeks straight and worked 17hours yesterday. I need more coffee

Well, the difference being that was the first player Jordan had ever drafted that wasn't a bust. Then he resumed ruining the building by continuing to suck royally at player evaluation. See Hayward, Gordon for the current example.

Don't you think that Tepper and Co. will have done their due diligence and spoken to everyone involved prior to making a trade.  That being, the league, the legal side of things....all that?  Watson is not going to go to jail, I think we can all get that out of our heads right now.

Yes, but it is the PR that they are going to have the most trouble with. I think that they are going to need to come out with the mindset of stating that he has not been criminally charged with anything and if he were charged, then they will take appropriate actions if that were to happen.

Al and Deshaun Watson are not even in the same category of player.  Its not comparable.

I don't blame the Hornets for signing Hayward. Now, overpaying him? Yeah, that is looking like a mistake.

Someone said this yesterday, but I think the best course of action if we do get him, is to willfully sit him down for the rest of the season, make him do some sort of redemption, as in setting up a fund for abused women or something, do community service, speaking engagements, the whole 9....then come back at the start of next season ready to kick some ass.  This season is a wash already anyways.

The PR will be terrible but he isn't likely a candidate for the commissioner's exempt list based on a civil matter. Supposedly, they have no plan to put him on the exempt list if he is traded.

Duh. Big Al is a huge man with those sweet, old school post moves. Watson is probably one of those guys that just jacks up 3s.

Joking aside, the premise remains that if Tepper is the one pushing for a trade, then he is the same sort of impatient, meddling owner, that MJ has been in the past. Also, the trade could end up being one of the biggest mistakes in franchise history.

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
