Sam not sliding got Sam hurt...

Sam was trying to go for the score. That’s what he gets paid to do. Play football. It would have been an easy TD run if Cam Erving had made the block on Oluokun!

Yeah, Sam is such an idiot. Who is dumb enough to want to make a play in that situation?

And if Sam had slid, you'd probably call him out for not going for it.

Ah Goob, never change dude.

Hubbard said that they scored the TD for Sam…..but, it was probably a lie, or he was simply stating that because he felt he had to say that.

Actually when I suggested the defender be penalized for leading with the helmet on that play you attacked me. Who is really moving the goal posts here? You aren't making much sense.

Damm dude, someone questions your thought process and you get all up in the feels. And once again you have moved the goalpost.

You're a trip. You act all high and mighty, then get so defensive when questioned. No wonder you are perfectly alright with calling Sam expendable. You never have to defend your stance.

Had Erving ran up the field to block, not knowing if the play was run or pass,RPOs, oline told to jog up field... he could've been called for illegal man down field which would have neglect Darnold's run...a repeat of downs plus ur QB hurt. Darnold chose not to slide because he felt he was Derrick Henry in a split sec.

it was a read option run play, not an run pass option play

My opinion of Cam is strictly off field….and no, not because I think he’s a bad guy. Who said anything about Sam’s on field performance?  The criticism he has received here is just, but like anything else, how you chose your words reflect your character….I understand this is the new culture, idolize those that mock the disabled, and war heroes when they die, but I thought that southerners self promote their “good manners and southern hospitality”?

I think he’ll (Sam) make a great backup somewhere with a good line….and saying that, isn’t exactly complimentary about his play.  I think I like the Panthers, and it will be much easier to cheer for them once Sam is gone, hopefully, to a good franchise.  Hope you don’t lose too much in letting him go.

Off the field as in what if you don't mind me asking? I can agree with you about certain tendencies now within our culture due to social media. But I myself do not want to see anyone injured. If you were expecting good manners I've got news for you. I saw many Panthers fans gritting their teeth for a decade every time Newton won a game and then when we lost all hell broke loose. In that regard honestly people have been pretty easy going on Sam there are still some here who are unwavering in their belief in his abilities and their opinion. I have no idea what the future holds for Sam but the Panthers have and will look out for him he is financially secure. I just hope next offseason we have a plan A B and C if necessary at quarterback because this year we blew it.

Chuba's comments are exactly why I do not believe the problems with drops is players "checking out" of the offense because of Darnold (and it would have started in training camp).  Darnold is part of our problem, I'm sure DJ and Robby agree, but I don't think they're sitting on the sidelines deciding not to give effort...

Imagine DJ Moore on the sidelines thinking... I know Im up for a contract here soon but I really dont like sam darnold.  Im gonna go out there and half ass it the rest of he game, make HIM look bad.  That'll show him!!

It’s not just about how a man responds to wins, it’s how he loses….many a great competitor and men that hate to lose know they must man up and face that loss….like a man.  Do you not think some of that is also reason he hasn’t been picked up, the drama that surrounds him?

The girl comment to that reporter was cringeworthy.  Not a fan of the foppish dress, but it’s his right, his money, and he’s not a bad person, just a little self absorbed.

What is often forgotten is; these guys are human beings. With families, and hopes and dreams. Yet far too many fans treat them like possessions. Chew them up, and spit them out. With no regards to the player

Expendable, coward, and dumb are words I have read in just the last 2 days. After a win.

And back to our regularly scheduled show. Complaining? Does it actually do a body good?

Cam never took losses well which I never had an issue with because I want players to win, although he didn't take the losses maturely all the time.

I'd still rather have a QB that actually cared about winning and had some fire. We haven't had that since he left.

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
