All accounts I have read online said he has zero interest in recruiting.

Ah hah. I hadn't seen that.

His calls just seem really uninspired compared to last year (which still were problematic at times, lol).  Maybe he is being hamstrung by Darnold and the OL.

We have seen Watson in Houston be very successful with an equally poor offensive line for years. The problem there was often their defenses were bad as well.

I haven't seen the exact comparison between OLs, but there are QBs that make things happen behind bad OLs for sure. Darnold doesn't see the field and throws into windows after they close.

His play calling last year was an issue just in the red zone. For the most part this year we had been heavily improved in the red zone. Unfortunately, our QB is still an idiot at times and makes really, really bad decisions with the football.

Nah the NFL has worked him out and he isn't good enough to adjust.

Yeah... I think that when we tried to force him to call a run based offense his calls got much worse. That isn't his strength as a playcaller, nor do we have great personnel for it.  But a bad QB and OL are hard to work with in a passing game for sure. Especially when our receivers also haven't been particularly reliable this year.

Where are all of the "real fans" at?

We still pretending you're only a real fan if you're in denial that our current team is total poo?

@PanthersGOATFan336@Moo Daeng @iamhubby1 and all you other positive pollies that were gatekeeping my fandom last week?

Can I criticize the team yet?

Don't worry man, I got chastised this morning for doubting we would make the playoffs.  What the heck was I thinking????  Clearly we are a SB contender!

Ive actually wondered about this.  So many times announcers remark the opposing team seems to always be in the right place. I'm wondering if teams have learned how to read our plays by personnel etc.

I don't know any Oline that could be successful in front of this QB.

WHUUUUUUUTTTT?  Dude, the homers at CBS (AFC crotch sniffers) were even clowning our OL.  It was more praising the Pats for completely decimating/owning/embarrassing our speed bumps rather than taking pity on the OL, but the point still stands.

Our oline is terrible but not as bad as our qb.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
