Why is PJ Walker on this team?

Why is he on the team if he's so bad that a putrid Sam Darnold who didn't even practice all week after getting concussed and injuring shoulder is the better option.

Who am I kidding no one's that bad, Rhule and company are just saving face for their horrible personnel move. And keep rolling the bust out there until our season becomes a bust.

Do we have an explanation for this? If your QB is as bad as Sam Darnold and is playing as bad as Sam Darnold but this dude isn't worth playing???

So what is he doing on this team?

To NOT put pressure on Sam.

I think sometimes teams don't really want a backup that is that good.  It can cause QB controversies.

This entire time I think they have tried to create an environment for Sam to succeed and take the pressure off of him.

Even in the preseason they didn't play him much.

As long as all the pro-personel people are fired also or it's half assed action. Those guys are terrible.

The only guy that needs tuning up is Rhule, IMO. Literally just him. You want to be the boss and have final say over everything in the organization, then you take 100% of the blame.

And he failed even harder than ever. Rhule needs to get fried in the media and by the fans for this.

This lays 100% on his fuging shoulders.

Because he is a Rhule guy.  He will sing the song Rhule wants sung behind the scenes.   Experienced pros like Teddy will point out bullpoo and talk about guys that don’t know what they are doing

and Rhule can’t play him.  Because if he does play him…you will see Sam and PJ are the same.  And that type horrible is free.  Yet Rhule gave up a bunch of picks for it.

But the huddle keeps saying how much talent this team has.

DJ and Robbie just had 1000 yard seasons, CMC is arguably the best in the league, Chinn, Reddick, Burns, Brown, Gilmore, Shaq, and DJax are great. There is plenty of talent, just a bad OC and QB.

Huge part is Rhule but those guys let it happen. Should never have been on the board. No idea how much to blame where but throw in Fritts to the poo stew that is our offense. Just awful on so many levels.

Why gaf if our backup QB gets minutes. It’s not like we need to evaluate him or the team is going to be a competitive playoff team.

The point being that Rhule left the team in this fuging shape because he bought in so fuging hard on Sam Darnold.

So he fuging knows PJ can't do this but did fuging NOTHING to change that.

Rhule is a fuging idiot.

The crazy poo is he didn't need to bring in real competition, like a younger player like Minshew to be the backup. He coulda gone with an older vet that everyone knew isn't gonna be the franchise. That's NO pressure on Darnold.

    • A team should always be putting at least one or two draft picks in at tackle and guard each season. Those guys just don't last nearly long enough and those that do get very, very expensive. In our situation, we need a little more time to see what the Icky injury works itself out to. Njiman performed really well out there and if this injury lingers into the next season, then he might do well enough there to hold the line for the team. Or we could draft early if there is a stud LOT in the draft when our spot comes along.  Honestly, we may be looking at replacing both LT and RT this season at this point. Moton is getting long in the tooth and while he deserves a shot to go for a playoff run with this team, I don't know whether we will really see him come back next season yet. It's still so darned early in all of this to say.
    • Because we had a ton of things go our way this year and made the playoffs with a -70 point differential.  This year was the outlier.  Regression to the mean is unavoidable.  So the team will have to significantly improve to beat 8 wins next year.
    • One thing I noticed in this game (and I say this as the biggest of Bryce Young haters) is that Bryce did do a solid job of throwing into voids in this game, and leading receivers on crossers.  There were a few times where I was thinking "where the hell is he throwing it" only for a receiver to appear out of nowhere and catch it in stride.  Mike McDaniel might be a guy that can squeeze a little bit of production out of the otherwise ghastly Bryce Young. His offenses heavily feature that style of passing game.  I've heard Idzik is drawing interest from other teams.  If so, bringing McDaniel in at OC would be a stellar move.  I know it'll never happen, but fun to think about.
