I don't see him getting fired at the end of the year. Our defense is definitely pretty good. Now Joe Brady who has blown two QBs and was considered a QB guru... His head on a pike might silence the crowd and Tepper.

We are set to watch PJ and Barkley QB this team for an extended period while Fields looks like he is on the come up who our owner allegedly vouched for.

I wouldnt count my chickens yet….

I kind of agree with you. I dont think running coaches out our town is good practice. Everyone knew the situation he was walking into. Rhule knew it, which is probably why he negotiated for so many years, its takes time to build a program.

The QB play and the oline has been brutal, but the rest of the team is actually pretty good. We can fix this. This season is a wash unfortunately..

If you make a massive mistake....sticking with it isn't good practice either though.

Tepper should of never hired Rhule.  That was the mistake.   He didn't have the resume.

He is not going to get fired. That would be a knee jerk reaction. Tepper will go hard after Watson, and most likely will land him.  If Rhule cant win with Watson, then that would be the etching on the gravestone.

The bottom line is that Rhule came in with 90% roster turnover, and turned a bottom of the league defense into an elite unit. Joe Brady had a strong offense last year and was seen as a wunderkind, but as many pundits have said, people have figured out the offense. Tepper knows this, Rhule knows this (as he mentioned three weeks back that joe brady has a lot to work on)...

The argument of "well Rhule hired him" goes in the same vein as John Harbaugh hiring (and firing) Marc Trestman as OC. The bottom line is that this FO thought they could shortcut the process with Sam. It didnt work out, but its a risk they took. Tepper supported it. Now they are going to change course and correct.

Rhule has at least one more year here. Regardless of how we look right now as a team, its still better than what we have seen since Rivera era post Cam injury.

I cant think of a single coach who had a roster turnover of 90% and turn the franchise into a super bowl winning operation within 2 seasons. we are just being impatient.

it's the NFL.  You don't get long.

Every HC we have had got us into the playoffs by year 3.  Nothing suggests Rhule has us on that track.  The only one who didn't was shown the door.

Rhule will get a third year assuming he doesn't bolt for a college job. That may be the best scenario for all involved. If he stays, the offensive coaching staff will be the sacrificial lambs.

This right here is what will happen.  Rhule is safe for one more year, Brady and his varsity letter jackets is a goner.  We use all 2 of our draft picks this year on OL and FA on OL and we'll see what Rhule (and Darnold b/c he'll be here) can do.

current trajectory IMO would still have to change to get that year 3.  current trajectory is downward.   Which means more bad comes with that.

NFL players flex and demand more and more as the years go on.  If the current trejectory maintains, you got to think you will start seeing and hearing about guys talking.  Wanting to bounce to greener pastures.  You can't lose the team and get a 3rd year.   These guys have short windows to play this game.
