How does a team just keep getting worse and worse?

I feel like something is in the works other than this just being a bad coaching staff. The game plans have been vanilla, the players have given up. Maybe Matt Rhule is planning to head back to college. Some good openings coming up and he clearly doesn’t have an NFL future

This defense just got run over.  They could not stop or cover anything. And the offense.....

How do these guys just keep getting worse?

The only thing about this team that seems to have improved is the kicking game.  At least they finally found a pk.

They weren’t good in the first place.

He checked out last season.  Look at some of his off season interviews, he was finished before this season started.

You have to wonder if Rhule really ever wanted to coach this team. He seemed pretty content at Baylor, had a nice house and his family was comfortable there. But Tepper threw so much money at him it’s hard to say no. I mean who could blame him? But this is what happens when you hire a guy who might never have wanted the job in the first place.

I believe at first he was excited about the opportunity. Sometime last season, I believe he realized he was in over his head. Some of his interviews in the off-season you could tell he just wasn’t in it.

Because NFL teams, good ones, do film study and they totally understand what a team is doing  and why, and if that team being filmed keeps doing the same thing overly and over again, the one thing they do well, is taken away

    • It is entirely possible to defend your point without calling a bunch of people "tards".  Bryce Young sucks.  The vast majority of football fans acknowledge and accept this, especially on this site despite the very few who may argue otherwise, and even then, I find it is more in a "cut him some slack" kind of way and not a "he's the future of the team" kind of way. At the end of the day, if you look hard enough on the Internet, you are always going to find takes that drastically differ from what you perceive to be the truth.   And nobody who's football opinion is worth listening to has argued Bryce Young is the MVP.  Again, that is an example of you looking way too hard on Twitter, assuming that is something you have actually even read.
    • Bryce's Career To Date passing yards by games. Includes two games he did not start but played. 2023(179.8/GM) Less Than 100: 1 101-150: 4 151-200: 6 201-250: 4 251+: 1 2024(171.6/GM) Less Than 100: 3 101-150: 1 151-200: 3 201-250: 3 251+: 3 2025(173.8/GM) Less Than 100: 0 101-150: 4 151-200: 3 201-250: 0 251+: 1 Percentage of Games Less Than 100: 10.5% 101-150: 23.7% 151-200: 31.6% 201-250: 18.4% 251+: 13.2%     So, in 2/3 of his career games played he is under 201 yards passing.
    • It works very well it’s just frustrating because it can win enough games to keep those three coaches employed even when they don’t innovate or ever make a decision that doesn’t come from a chart. If they weren’t so robotic in their decision making they’d be in the top tier of NFL coaches.
