Dang out of the game and I forgot about him. He put together a great staff his first time. Im still in the "give rhule 3 years" group......but if a legit big name hits the market and has tepper's dollars in his mind....bye rhule..

Hits the market? Pederson is available right now.

You'd just have to convince Matt Rhule to hire him rather than promoting one of his own people.

Good luck with that part 😕

There are times I want my owner to get involved.

Peterson actually is a very tempting name.  A lot of times fans want the young, up and coming coach, but an older guy with loads of NFL experience, at all levels might be exactly what this staff needs.

Yeah I like Peterson but there are a bunch of interesting names out there. I would love to see Lefwitch and Kellen Moore too.

Lefwitch and Moore wouldn't be in consideration for OC, that would be a lateral move for them.

People keep throwing out names that are HC candidates, OC candidates would be a different pool.

Ken Dorsey is a dark horse for OC. Was our former QB coach. Is the passing game coordinator for the Bills. (Morgan connection too)

He is the type of candidate that would be up for an OC position and might turn out good.

My only concern would be it would a step up for him.  The biggest complaint about this staff is they are new to their job and although Dorsey has been in the NFL the job itself would be new.

I could see the team wanting an experienced OC.

Maybe Dorsey goes to a team with an experienced HC, and our inexperienced HC looks for an experienced OC.

I actually like the idea of Pederson as an OC if we keep Rhule but fire Brady.

He's got a track record of success, runs a West Coast type system so no need for system based personnel turnover. Plus he's got a Panther connection through VP of Player Personnel Pat Stewart.

Hell, he was even on the 95 offseason roster (didn't make the team though).

It would be nice to have an experienced coach to help Rhule with practice, game planning, etc… Also he would be a great replacement if Rhule looks bad again. Seems like a logical, smart move so I doubt we make it…

Mentioned some options for that kind of help in the other thread...

I dont place him in the big fish market, he is a unique group. Bilacheat, Reid, Mcvay, etc would be unexpected big fish that Ill be all for canning Rhule for. Plus I feel its fair to get Rhule and crew at least his 3rd year.

Go back to his history though. He turned down the Jets head coaching job because they wanted input on his staff.

Turns out they may have had valid reason.

That has no relation to the situation. Are you suggesting Rhule is stubborn because he won't take YOUR advice?

LOL

He has a point. The Jets seen something they didn’t like whether it was NFL experience or tendency of favoritism that Tepper didn’t see and said no. If true, that’s a better decision that our front office.

Not sure how you draw that conclusion out of what I said 🤔

Rhule turned down the Jets job offer because they wanted to dictate some of his staff. To be honest, I've actually only heard one specific example. They wanted Gregg Williams as DC (I'd imagine Rhule wanted Snow).

So knowing that he balked on taking an NFL head coaching job that he wanted in a city where he wanted to be over what might have been only a single position on his staff, how would we expect him to react to an owner (one who previously gave him near full control over everything) dictating that he make sweeping changes on one side of the ball?

That's not exactly a difficult path to follow 😐

It should have been common sense to have some actual NFL experience on this coaching staff. We know you enjoy being the resident contrarian here but surely even you should be able to agree on this.

    • um... make it make sense. 200+ yards, no fumbles so why only a 75?!
    • They have for sure set the offense up to be successful with a QB that can run it.
    • I don't think Dan Morgan will be gone after this season, but some requested a potential 2026 GM candidate list. So here ya go. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Top/Rising General Manager Candidates: Notre Dame general manager Mike Martin Atlanta Falcons vice president of player personnel Kyle Smith Tampa Bay Buccaneers senior personnel executive Byron Kiefer Detroit Lions assistant general manager Ray Agnew Detroit Lions director of college scouting Brian Hudspeth Houston Texans assistant general manager Chris Blanco Former Indianapolis Colts chief personnel executive Morocco Brown New England Patriots senior personnel executive Alonzo Highsmith Buffalo Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray Las Vegas Raiders vice president of player personnel Brandon Hunt Los Angeles Chargers assistant GM Chad Alexander Seattle Seahawks Vice President of Player Acquisition Matt Berry Kansas City Chiefs assistant GM Mike Bradway New York Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown Cleveland Browns assistant GM Glenn Cook Chicago Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham Indianapolis Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds Buffalo Bills assistant GM Terrance Gray Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant GM Mike Greenberg Philadelphia Eagles assistant GM Alec Halaby Green Bay Packers director of football operations Milt Hendrickson Houston Texans director of player personnel James Liipfert (may be the assistant GM with Texans now) Baltimore Ravens VP of football administration Nick Matteo Los Angeles Rams assistant GM John McKay Washington Commanders assistant GM Lance Newmark Please correct me where I may have incorrect titles and add any names you think may be rising. Again, I don't think Dan Morgan will be fired after this season, but some requested this following the HC thread I made. I personally like knowing the names of these up and coming GM/HC candidates whether we are searching or other teams.
