Parsons, Fields, Slater

You would see less groaning about what if scenarios with that pick if mgmt hadn't tripled down at CB while the oline was left to rot. Now we have very limited draft resources next year to top it off. Not difficult to see why this will remain a source of contentious debate.

Ya know. I’m old enough to remember people saying the same thing about Tom Brady and Kurt Warner.

Time will tell.

Yeah, tom brady is an iconic game manager. That's the reason belichick chose mac jones over fields, mac jones much like Tom Brady is very much game manager and that's what's needed for belichick's system.

I still like to think Sewell was our #1 target and the Lions ruined it, so the Panthers are going to Panther and take a CB instead

Definitely but that's what worries me. Our pro scouting staff saw no talent outside of the top LT in his class any armchair GM would have brought to Carolina.

Well it won 6 Super Bowls.

yeah. and that could have been any qb. tom brady just happen to be on the patriots.

Yeah, then he went to the Bucs and “game managed” another Super Bowl. In fact this “game manger” is leading the league in passing yards and TDs. Stop with that nonsense…

So glad the panthers picked CB at 8 when that position is easier to retain (Djax) or obtain (Henderson/Gilmore) or find UDFA (Taylor) and we passed up Parsons, Fields, Slater.    So fuging stupid to pass on positions we needed and that are harder to obtain.  Horn is great but just the last 4 months showed us how it’s easier to get a DB than it would to get QB, LT, or a stud linebacker.

So glad the panthers picked G at 182 in the 2000 draft.  Jeno Jones is ok, but a guard is so easy to find or retain.  We should have picked Tom Brady, who went at 199.  Typical panthers.

yeah he did. tom brady handles football like a business. he went to a team that was already good before him. game manager. i just wish other qbs looked at it like that.

Get the fug out of here with this retarded argument.    Godalmighty what a fuging stupid take this is.

yeah. plug in any other solid qb and he would have a super bowl too. tom brady doesn't carry teams, he doesn't have the arm or athleticism to do that. mac jones is on his way because of the team, not mac jones.

I am fairly certain you might be the only person on the planet who feels this way.

Brady is one of the best of all time because he makes quick and smart decisions and accurate throws under pressure, especially when the game is on the line.  This is an ability that is far, far more important than athleticism in a qb.  Regarding arm strength, its dropped off over the years, but at one time, he certainly had good downfield strength and accuracy.

Plus his awareness in the pocket and the way he moves in it is legendary.  Arguably the best of all time

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
