This won’t be a popular take here, and a lot of factors point against us (CMac out, Cam still getting familiar with offense, etc). However, Panthers have always performed better when everyone counts us out.

Assuming the defense gets it together and plays to their potential, and Brady’s departure is the positive we all think it is, I don’t think it’s crazy to say we can win 4/5 (a lot will hinge on if TB has anything to play for the last week).

This NFL season has been unpredictable to say the least, so here’s to us having oh so slight a chance.  One step at a time though: BeatATL

You want to know which games the Panthers will win just look at the d-line of the opposing team. The Falcons d-line sucks to high heaven and can't hold up against even our o-line. We can just keep running the ball and probably win. The Bucs and Bills are going to beat the crap out of us because we can't push their d-line around.

Draft position is most important man.  Without picks in rounds 2,3 this team cant fix anything.  We need to pick as high as possible to trade down.

I don’t want anyone saying we didn’t fix the offense with 1 mid first round pick.  You don’t get to shet on the GM later

I'm not sure we even make it past Atlanta. And New Orleans may beat us with a QB who doesn't even have a uniform yet (man, they've been snakebit this season... that old voodoo hex they bought years ago must have come due).

Winning against the Bills and Bucs? No chance at all. We are there to strengthen their playoffs seedings.

    • Brandt's comment about Wharton was from his KC perspective when Wharton was a UDFA rookie.   "it goes back to the anecdote that Brandt Tillis had when he was in Kansas City. And it would be so easy to just cut Turk Wharton in 2020 when he was an undrafted rookie from a division two college in Missouri. It would been so easy to cut him because then he would have cleared waivers easily. No one knew this guy. They didn't have any joint practices, didn't have a preseason. Would have been so easy to cut him and bring him back on the practice squad and let him continue to build from there. And Brandt essentially said, "No, he's got to make the 53man roster if we're going to have any sort sense of credibility with this team."
    • Plenty of us were scratching our heads about that signing at the time. Especially with our 3-4 defense. Wharton is kind of a one trick pony situational five tech DT. He doesn't have the beef to hold up against the run and he doesn't have the juice to shift outside. He's basically a situational pass rusher DT. If we paid him $40M+ and he can't start for a historically inept defense then holy poo...
    • Agreed.  300 and 2 or 3 total in Jacksonville in a winning effort would sure be a nice start.
