Here is one for some laughter:

I think Meyer would have been fine bringing The Golden Calf of Bristol in as a first year assistant coach instead of as a player.  The Golden Calf of Bristol could then help set the tone for the organization and also get some experience coaching.

Having The Golden Calf of Bristol come in as a player, being so old and with no recent playing time, for a position he never played, was just the height of stupidity.  It was hubris on the part of Urban Meyer.

Pete Carroll had significant NFL experience, including being head coach in New England prior to taking the Seattle job.  You are correct about Switzer, didn't think about him.

Calling Switzer a success at the pro level is a stretch.

His trophy came in one year with Jimmy Johnson's team and it was nothing but downhill from there.

Something changed te-bow in my post to "The Golden Calf of Bristol".   That's not what I wrote.

Is it some type of bot doing this ??

T3bowmania swept through this board in 2011 like it did in many places.  It's auto filtered to The Golden Calf of Bristol because ESPN switched to 24/7 coverage of him as illustrated nicely here:

e: let's see if it still filters Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire

    • I think he has closed the gap a little bit between him and a backup coming in and badly showing him up.  But not so much that someone could not come in and make the offense look like Andy did in Seattle week 3 2023. That poo was night and day to Bryce was putting out.  So, they are in a sense playing with fire by getting rid of Dalton and actually trying to bring in someone to push him.
    • Some people have been beaten down so long they have no standards. Can't be reasoned with.
    • Getting better, might be fairly charitable. We finished 1-3 with the pressure on. That is for sure not trending up.  I don’t see a clear run of performances that prove he has taken it to another level. Not yet.  I would say he played really well in the WC game. And folded on that last series where we still had a chance. I think he threw one good ball. That last series is the kind of thing a player is supposed to learn from and not repeat. We have to see him do it before we can credit him for doing it.    I would also say he has not done enough of playing at his ceiling and what we should expect as the game in game out norm is still not established.  We gonna get MNF in SF or we gonna get the WC game? Seattle or Atlanta yardage record?   Besides that he has three years of horrendous play to start the season hanging over him. Are we going to get that again or will he be over that? We can’t know that. Mind you, that isn‘t two of three it is three of three he has yet to play well to start the year as a pro. Ofer.    So, many questions remain.    As far as weapons and help… said it before. Fix the OL so we can protect him.  It is time for a 1.1 pick in his 4th season, third year in the same offense, to elevate the players we have given him. You can’t keep up the level of investment dedicated to propping him up, you have to prop up the defense too and get some balance.
