Our staff literally said that offensive lineman are the hardest position group to grab outside of the draft.  And yet they still relied on finding them outside of the draft.

THIS. Staff says they cannot find OL in free agency, yet waste draft capital on db's. Draft some quality OLmen you dumbasses!  Also, stop trading for DB's when you have some who are good. Another CB won't make you a championship team!!

didnt we do one of these threads for Bashaud Breeland too?

Yes, but he had an injury that kind of made sense to move on. Douglas looked like our best CB last year, then was unceremoniously let walk. Then, we draft a CB #8 and trade for 2 of them. W. T. F.

Yes, because other teams drafted quality linemen, if they aren't quality they release them. It's like the rarest position to fix in free agency. That all defensive draft was cool though

Not even just the draft, people were thinking guys like Andrew Whitfield were almost washed up when he was up for FA and he’s been all-pro caliber with the Rams.  We just settle for scrubs and don’t make moves for quality linemen

Whitworth and let’s be honest, it does take two to tango and like Stafford, he may have preferred LA. It’s easy to say we should have drafted X if they we available but FAs choose their destination even if we were interested.

Ha, yeah not even sure how I got Whitfield out of Whitworth.  But yeah, you’re right.  It’s hard to gauge player’s preferences when some guys don’t want to come here, but good free agents who could’ve gotten a lot more like Reddick signed with us for cheap. Never know what’s going on behind the scenes so it’s easy to be cynical

Douglas is not a cover corner. He is more of a zone corner. He has shown good eyes and instincts and has good size. I think after last year Snow wanted to play more man, especially after our 3rd down woes. That's why they let him walk. He has looked really good this year because he is being used the right way by his coaching staff.

    • I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one.  Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
