Is D Brown a bust?

Everything is basically Rhule not knowing WTF he is doing. As fans, even those that doubted Rhule when he was hired, we tried to be positive about this rebuild. That included ignoring what has always been there, the fact that these coaches don't have a clue how to succeed in this league and at this level.

We ignored all the warning signs and all the obvious flaws but it has always been there. Look at what Teddy was trying to say and we turned on him in a split second. The reality is that the players and their actions have told the story. It just took a while for us to listen.

I don't think we ignored it but we didn't have much choice but to look for the best in a bad situation. From the release of Cam and giving Teddy way too much money to the Darnald signing which was a head scracher as well. Not to mention the complete fact that Rhule has ignored the offensive line for two years. Now we just wait to see how bad it gets.

I didn’t watch this game but seeing comments mentioning brown on the sidelines during obvious run downs. Not the first time he’s been benched recently. Is it a case of awful coaching? Or is he another 1st round bust?

Is he playing well? Hell no. But who on this team is?

Former 1st round big man with at least 2 more years on a rookie contract? Personally, I’d like to see what he can do with NFL coaches doing the coaching.

Rhule is the bust. Brown showed significant promise last year. Everyone has regressed this year. There are so many glaring signs that our coaching is just flat out not NFL caliber. If Brown doesn't bounce back next year under a new staff then I'll be concerned about him. If there's not a new staff next year, then we're fuged anyway so who cares?

The fact that Chinn, Brown, and other defensive players have regressed this year speaks more to the coaching than their ability.

I think Brown was over drafted but I’m not ready to label him a bust yet. The success Reddick and Burns have had on the edge is not fully possible without adequate DT play beside them.

No. He has had a terrible, Baylor assistant dline coach, coaching him at the NFL level... Still a slightly above average DT. Need to pair him with another guy in a year or two.

You don’t draft a DT at #9 hoping he’s a slightly above average player. He’s a bust at this point.. If you disagree, look at other stud players drafted around his pick.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
