David Tepper Facts

My guess is that the business side of the house wasn't that organized when Tepper took over, so it took most of his attention... and also throw in an MLS team. The product on the field could wait, given how NFL finances work. It sucks as a fan to sit and watch, but Tepper's bottom line isn't in jeopardy. He may not have diamond hands, but he can wait until the right upgrade is available.

Matt Rhule was the "right upgrade" according to Tepper.

Wasn't Hurney instrumental to the Rhule hire?  If so, could we say that Hurney has ruined the franchise more than Tepper?  I have hope that if the football guys we have here actually recruit and hire the next head coach without Tepper's insistence, then we may just get on the right track.

His redemption is just one move away. That redemption is canning Rhule on black Monday and bringing in an adviser to help Fitterer find his next head coach.

Everything he’s done to this point will be forgiven by me, if he realizes his mistake and cuts the cord.

Unfortunately you're 18 more losses from realizing that dream.

Tepper is the one who retained Marty and trusted him with that job.

The business side was, per reports, an absolute mess. Primary reason being that Jerry Richardson was well known to give out jobs based on how much he liked people or how loya; they were to him regardless of whether they were actually qualified for the job or not.

Still, he could have (and should have) put a competent football person in place to handle that side of things instead of leaving it to Marty Hurney.

    • yeah, I can get a little of that.  But that's not what he is posting in his argument just now though.   He said people wouldn't even concede to the literal ability to do it when pressed on the literal ability.  I have never seen that.  He maintains it exists somewhere.  I mean, using anomaly games to make arguments about players just isn't the way.   There wasn't a defender within 10 yards of our guys on 2 of those 3 throws Sunday.  No one within 5 on the 3rd.   That's not Bryce Young answering questions about his play downfield..  That's Bryce Young taking advantage of coverage busts by a bad D.  Which hey, that's part of the game too.  Recognition and seeing the field.   It can't totally be dismissed.   That's still good play.  You want your QBs to make those plays.  But it's not getting into the long standing critique of BY IMO.
    • Deserved, I wouldn’t use that word. Asked for? For sure. Am I upset over it? No.  People forget that AT was throwing his helmet in frustration last season over his QB’s ineptitude. The same QB was pretty inept to start this year, no guarantee AT would have helped him in those games any more than he did last year.  Just sayin.  And Dan doing him a solid probably did not go unnoticed by players around the league. I think it increases his rep with potential FAs. It sure can’t hurt it.
    • You think that was the fault of the guy that was lighting it up or maybe the bums around him? Funnily enough, those bums are still being bums in his absence. Who would have thought!
