I fully expect Jason Garrett. He's still a "name". He's a former NFL HC. Rhule initially said he wanted one on his staff before bringing in the whole college crew. Rhule will sell Tepper on this as part of his "process" and Tepper will throw enough Money at Garrett to make him say "ah fug it, I'll cash another check before picking up the fishing rod and golf clubs".

Ellis theorized Rhule could reach out to Kevin Gilbride Jr's father.

Kevin Sr. was the Giants OC when Rhule was there, and as of last year he was still coaching in a developmental league somewhere.

Mind you, he's also 70, so there's that 😕

It's also possible Rhule could make Nixon or one of the other guys his OC and bring Gilbride Sr. in as a consultant to help him out. Then he could turn around and say "See? I have someone with NFL experience now!"

It’s gonna be a tank season, guys. Tepper is going to sit on assets, let some contracts play out and let him tank. It will give him the opportunity to attract another coach by saying he gave Matt 3 years.

That'd be a ridiculously dumbsh-t path to take.

But then Tepper doing dumbsh-t things shouldn't exactly be shock anyone.

Nixon has 10 years of nfl experience. No nfl OC experience though.

image.png.c233a6047b640f42739b6a857059ded2.pngI'm telling you guys Rhule and Tepper are about to trade for Watson fuging our future for the forseeable future. Reports last offseason were that we were willing to give up 3 1sts and 2 2nds for him.

Rhule is gonna mortgage the Panthers future for years to come if he gets a third season.  All to prove he knows what he's doing (he doesn't).  Tepper is going to let this happen to avoid having to admit he made a huge and foolish decision bringing in NFL novices like Matt and his staff.

Dave Tepper has driven this franchise into a ditch with his coaching/GM decisions.

It's all true.

Tepper is pushing in the direction of being worse than Jerry Richardson (some would argue he's already there).

    • I know teams have been selling out to stop the run, but Ricos kind of fallen off a cliff.. not sure if hes hurt or just worn down but even when theres a hole he doesnt look anything like he did those few weeks prior.
    • nah, that's basically saying people can't call a spade a spade.  Which is crazy.  89 is not a good dude.  He might have done a couple good things but it will never erase what he has proven to be in front of the world.  I tell my kid all the time not to view celebrity athletes as anything but people that play a sport well.  Lot of garbage humans play on Sunday.   And you have no clue who the good guys actually are.  PR in today's world is also powerful.  There was a window when Deshawn Watson checked every good guy box that could ever existed from the public's perspective.
    • Some folks say it's because teams are playing more shell defenses preventing more longer passes.  The analytics folks would rather you pass for 7 years every down.  As you state, the crop of QBs is mixed as far as quality. I think when you put it all together, it's a recipe for less passing yards.
