7 seeds have got to go

Recommended Posts

Agreed. I loved the NFL being unique in having so few team make the playoffs so pretty much all the games were competitive at least on paper (especially having 4 teams with first round byes). It's turning into the NBA now where there are just stupid mismatches in the first round, and that's not a good thing at all. 14/32 is still better than 16/30 in the NBA but it really should be 12 teams not 14.

I like only 1 team getting the bye though. If anything, they should’ve had the lowest two seeds play into the playoffs.

That will never happen because it would take an extra week with just those two games for an entire weekend. Then two teams would have to get a bye for two weeks

I don't like the 17 game schedule, 9-8, 12-5, 11-6 seems so wrong, but the additional team in the playoffs is so stupid. 7th seed is pointless, and I doubt a 7th seed will every have a chance to make the Super Bowl like a 6th seed does. 6th seeds is usually the very fringe of playoff caliber, but the 7th seed is dipping into teams that have no right to be in the playoffs, like the Steelers.

It's just poo football. If you're going to let these crap teams in you may as well just let every team in the playoffs.

I like the one team gets a bye.  It makes everybody play the last game of the season. (For the most part)

Sure Pittsburgh and Philly showed THIS year they aren't deserving but what happens when that 7th seed makes it to the Super Bowl and wins.

And yet everyone seems to be watching… I don’t think it’s goig anywhere

Couple things making it look worse than it is:

Being back in front of fans (not so much now as earlier in the year) really upped penalties.

The first year of new schedule is always wonky.  It’ll smooth out.  A group of good young QBs are taking over.  Parity will return to the playoffs.

I only got the Bucs wrong so far bc I just can’t pick TB/ATL/NO to win a playoff game.  Fug that.

TL;DR

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
