If you expected some top flight OC to come here, you were being delusional.

Nope, but this is why you fire Rhule today and not a year from now.

Tepper's dumbassery is why we are where we are.  This is just another in a long line of mistakes.  We are getting turned down by coaches for the OC job that would gladly interview for the HC position.

Make the smart choice, Tepper.  Don't throw more good money after bad.

5 years in the league. All his strengths and weakness are apparent now. He is what he is. I expect the Team to eat most of his remaining contract and try to dump him off to be some teams backup.

Yeah we'll probably have to send someone a 2023 draft pick and Darnold for them to cover half his guaranteed $, basically sell a draft pick for the favor. Thats like 4 draft picks total for a failed Darnold experiment?

He's got the pro experience they wanted.....worst possible results at his stops, but pro experience none the less

Not sure if he’s had the worst possible results at his stops. I know he took the giants O from one of the worst to average to top 10. This is just an average hire to me.

Was hoping we’d go with Scottie to secure the tank.  McAdoo is actually a decent OC, the Giants offense was good with him in that role.  It was at head coach where things got dicey.  He may be able to bring our offense up to mediocre from bottom of the barrel, which unfortunately will ruin that draft pick for our new coach in 2023

True, but maybe just maybe Tepper realizes that a new HC this year is set up for failure, with no draft picks and stuck with Darnold. Next offseason is a clean slate (Unless Rhule trades all our 2023 draft picks to move back into this draft, signs some more mediocre O-line guys to long deals, etc)

I'm assuming that 2nd interview was today. "Don't let the guy leave" mentality.

Oh yeah I bet when the video comes out Bill Voth, David no balls Tepper, Matt Fhule, and Ben Pile of Doo will be giggling then Fhule’s wife walks up with of bowl of those meatballs.

Panthers hired OC Ben McAdoo.

Coach Matt Rhule and the organization were transparently seeking out a candidate with prior play-calling experience and McAdoo, having served as the Giants’ coordinator from 2014-2015, brings just that. New York’s offenses ranked 10th- and eighth-overall in yards per scrimmage during those campaigns, seeing McAdoo tossed out into the streets following a promotion to head coach after he was the only human in New York with the wherewithal to bench Eli Manning during a 2-10 season in 2017. McAdoo spent the 2021 season as an offensive consultant for the Cowboys alongside hot stove OC Kellen Moore

I don't disagree on next season.  Matt Rhule and the GM (last and current) will haunt us for a while.

Checks all the boxes...  Just like Dan Quinn for the Cowboys he might be able to come in and fix the offensive mess we witness the last 2 seasons..

lmao

Dan Quinn was a good DC before being a bad head catch.

McAdoo doesn't have a good track record as a coordinator or HC.

    • Read the first line of my post---then read your response.  A few points---I acknowledge that I have not seen the players on the field yet, something you seem to point out in order to attack my opinion--that is what I call going full  Richard Cranium.  I state that he did not get bullied (trade values don't need performance criteria--they make trades without knowing the performance in the draft--should not have to explain that to you).   He did not get bullied like the trade up last year.  He got us a second rounder back.  How is that like Fitterer last year?  I'll wait for you to answer, but I do not think you will--effectively using things called "facts"
    • Seems like a legit HC candidate could wind up in Charlotte.  Lakers and Wizards also need a coach, but there are some big names floating out there. Darvin Ham, Buddenholzer, JJ Reddick, Kenny Atkinson, Jerry Stackhouse… Who ya like to *develop* this young team?
    • While I think it'd be silly for anyone to argue that Mahomes wouldn't have done any better here (and is obviously leagues above Bryce), it's worth mentioning...I watched the Raiders/Chiefs game late last year and man did Mahomes and that offense look like absolute trash in a game where Mahomes was continuously running for his life behind an o-line that couldn't block for poo, while trying to throw to receivers getting zero separation, and getting zero help from his run game.  You know, the norm for Bryce every week.  It really did look like I was watching a Panthers game.  That was a game against Aidan O'Connell with a final stat line of 9/21 for 62 yards 0 TDs and yet Mahomes and the Chiefs managed 7 total points up until 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter in arguably garbage time.
