Riot: Panthers to take a major swing at QB?

I wasn’t saying, just showed a video. I don’t really believe it either. I need to see to believe. I would be a lot happier if we had a new coach!

I've said before that there's been enough hyperbole about Tepper's persona to build a Chuck Norris style "David Tepper Facts" website.

That's probably still true in a lot of the media (Schrager giving credence to the idea that we could get Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson, for example) but for many Panther fans it would seem the bloom is off the rose.

Granted he's still got a few fawning, slurping sycophants here but pretty much nobody pays those guys any heed.

We need to take a major swing at improving the offensive line

Exactly. With a “lame duck” coach it will be difficult to recruit a top 15 quarterback to Carolina or to accept a trade to Carolina. With the knowledge across the l league that it could be a different coaching staff next year it makes difficult.

That's gonna require someone explaining to Matt Rhule that versatility isn't the most important characteristic you need to look for in a lineman.

SMH if he goes to bucs.

Yep

If you are Watson, Wilson, why wouldn’t you want to go the Bucs, they are loaded.

Rodgers will wind up staying in GB

of course a lot of this positive conjecture by the media is to give the base hope to renew seats and sell merchandise

I have zero faith in Tepper as an owner

It’s been mentioned before how Tepper is obsessed with getting Watson. I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s why he brought Cam back. There were some grumblings Watson didn’t like how cam was treated in his first exit here and Watson and cam are friends. Tepper signed cam to show passively show Watson “look, we love cam”. Of course, Rhule played Sam over cam bc he’s dumb, but that’s another story. This is just speculation on my part, but it wouldn’t surprise if this is what happened.

We fixing to go big or go home. Just wish Rhule wasn’t the coach!

Schrager is smoking something funny if he thinks that our team has "one big gaping hole".  Perhaps he missed the fact that our OLine is nothing but a big gaping hole.

Yea, I think a super QB can cover for a lot of sins on the line.  But none of the guys Shrager is discussing are Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, etc.

Kirk Cousins is a good QB.  He can win games for you while you work to build the team.  But I just don't think he gets you over the hump.

Anybody look at that formula and see the Panthers? 😕

Hey he could probably pick what coach he wanted if he came here. However as a fan I don’t really want him on our team. Before these allegations I was all in, 3 firsts, CMC, Burns whatever it took. Not so much anymore…

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
