Pickett checks all the boxes but Willis isn't even an option? Man ten years later and this stuff still hasn't changed 😂

Sorry, I forgot what a powerhouse Liberty QBs are. My bad. They are even better than the SDS QBs. Just ask the 49ers. C'mon man. Not sure what 10 years you're referring too but I'm sure it makes sense to you.

What’s your argument? Cam Newton was The Golden Calf of Bristol’s backup at UF and Justin Fields couldn’t beat Fromm at UGA.

Was he third string?

Jarrett Stidham is definitely no The Golden Calf of Bristol. He wasn't even a Fromm. Bo Nix was trash and that's the guy who ultimately made Willis transfer. Willis couldn't beat out Bo Nix.

He had one good rushing game game against p5 opponents in the past 2 years.

Yeah by tough to bring down I'm not trying to imply that he is a good rushing QB. He lacks the speed to be a rushing QB type, but he is hard to bring down compared to your typical QB due to his muscly build.

At this point, just draft him. At best he looks legit but we lose enough for Rhule to get canned. At worse, he’s the reason chinless lasts minimum 2 more years.

Yeah, he doesn’t have the gravitas that a Cam or big conference prospects have, but might as well gamble for him rather than an average floor/possible bust with no value type in Pickett.

You would be doing Willis a grave disservice to start the kid year one. He is in no way ready to play in the NFL.  No amount of pixie dust is going to magically turn him into a pro ready qb in one training camp.

He's a long term project that has a slim chance to work out on well coached team. He has zero chance here.

So he fires Rhule? Draft his ass

It certainly wouldn't decrease our odds of drafting in the top 5. But seriously, do you see any of these kids having a chance of success starting year one under a lame duck coach?

I just can't see how McAdoo can pull that off while installing a new whatever bs offense he can pull out of his ass. You know he rolled Rhules play book up and threw it in the trash as soon as he was hired.

I don’t but it looks like our route to go. Sometimes you’ve passed all the on-ramps before the tunnel.

Go back and watch Fields dismantle Clemson's defense in the playoffs and then honestly try to tell me Willis has a higher ceiling. Y'all musta forgot.

Then put that tape on side by side with Willis versus any P5 team.

I like Willis a lot. IMO, he is probably the guy I would personally take in this draft.

For SURE not in the first round, though.

He's too short. He's more in the Johnny Manziel, Geno Smith class of QB's. I would be livid if we drafted him at 6, especially with 3 generational OT's at the top of the draft and one of them is slated to fall to us

Whoa dude.. all 3 of these guys aren't generational. Matter of fact I haven't heard one of them mentioned as generational all have flaws.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
