Good God the 3 picks is hard to swallow but giving up our best two defenders really hurts.

Question for the Cap guys.  We don't add much to the salary cap off of Burns and Chinn?  I mean that is more money we can bring in replacements for these guys.

Trading Burns saves about $2M; trading Chinn saves about $750k. Neither is a cap burden on either Houston or Carolina, which is likely why they continue to be mentioned. Trading Brown would incur a slightly negative cap hit, but it is less than $1M.

If Watson is off the board, Jimmy G for next years 2nd? Build the o-line and I think this is a playoff team.

fug no. He’s just another Teddy/Sam and we’d be throwing away a pick for no reason.

What did the NIners give up for Lance?

They have up picks for sure, but the thing that worries me most is what kind of contract we would offer Watson immediately. 50-55m a year for 10 years, 300m guaranteed. I don't know that we would, but it wouldn't surprise if we made him the highest paid QB in the NFL.

I guarantee that was part of teppers pitch and Watson still isn’t interested 🤷‍♂️

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
