I think if Corrall is our guy that they do not have to take him in the first round.  I think he will be there later in the draft.

Corral is for sure going in the 1st if he is the top QB. He will probably go top 10.

Having a capable QB on a rookie contract is a game changer. You can stack your team and basically be better at every position than your competition allowing the rookie to play “distributor” rather than “game winner.”

IMO that is what Fitterer has been going for the entire time. They tried moving the timeline with Darnold bc our roster was already pretty stacked. He just sucked too badly for it to work…and quite frankly maybe the OC situation was way worse than we all knew.

If we sign Brown then we’re going QB. Just buckle up and hope it’s Corral instead of a “peaked” Pickett or a complete unknown in Willis

This is quality data. This is something worth paying attention to. The Panthers are doing an awful lot to convince the league that we're going to take a QB at 6.

Wouldnt it be something if going after Deshaun was a.... (whisper) "smokescreen" ...to convince others we're desperate for a QB. And now we're sending Panther personnel to every QB pro day. Fitt goes viral for looking at Kenny Pickett's hand size. Matt Rhule is visably seen looking at every QB like a Golden Coral buffet.

it just seems to be a little too deliberate. I think that pick 6 is for sale. And its possible that Matt Corral is actually the guy they're targeting.

But i could be dead wrong.  Bernie Sanders Reaction GIF by Saturday Night Live

Let's hear him exspleen it.

The sports broadcasting association should induct Thomas Davis into their hall of fame for single-handedly encouraging so many NFL QBs to immediately recognize their future as TV analyst/commentators.

We have telegraphed our intentions about as poorly as any team I have ever seen under the Tepper ownership

I'm not convinced that Matt Corral is as low on boards as people think. The only way that would happen is if something seriously wrong came up medically or character-wise. If we want him we are going to have to take him at 6.

Hate to say it, but unless he had Mac Jones over all of them last year then he's wrong completely after everyone's Rookie year.

Not sure where he had Mac rated exactly, but I do know Simms was higher on him than most of the "experts" were FWIW.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
