Ellis - "When it comes to big time issues, like quarterback, the owner is pretty involved."

That’s something retarded that I can see the panthers doing.  Let the rookie learn from Sam.  Yeah that’s the tits.   Then when rhule is fired Willis can then learn another system from the new coach.

build the line.  Run it back with Sam and then get a new coach and new qb and let them learn together

Can you imagine CMC behind Ekwonu-Christensen-Bozeman-Corbett-Moton with Moore and Tremble as go to's as well? 😮

He had a bad staff around him.  But Fields still showed he was special at times last year.  Which is what you want to see.

Sam Darnold had a bad staff around him. But Sam showed he was special at times last year. Which is what is making us stick with him for another year, sadly (that and being on the hook for his salary anyway).

Horrible staff and now he faces the thing that no qb wants to go through.  Changing to a completely different offense so early in his career.  So his rookie season was a waste in scheme wise.

NFL teams screw up so many simplistic things.  Chicago knew Nagy's time was short.....then drafted Fields for Nagy to waste time with.   If they were going to draft someone like Fields they should of hired a HC that could come up with him.  Stability.

It's like the Panthers.  They are going to let lameduck Matt Rhule waste a top 10 pick on Pickett.  Fire Rhule.  Bring in a new HC.  He most likely isn't going to want Pickett but his own QB.

100%.   There are maybe 3 qbs in the nfl that can learn numerous offenses in a few seasons and be successful.

Sam Darnold never showed he was special last year.

he did have a bad staff around him.  But we have 4 years of Sam Darnold as starting QB in the NFL.  He isn't a starter.  He isn't being held back.  He simply is part of the offensive problem with the staff.

I find it difficult to believe Tepper is going to be willing to watch another year of Darnold. I really think we take a QB at #6 or we trade back to take a QB.

We are in need of OL and DL upgrades than at QB, and have an opportunity to get a decent OL to start with first pick. No telling what Tepper and Scott will do with the first pick and I hope it will be on the right track fixing what needs fixing the most.

With Darnold at qb, we might manage to average 17points a game.  Maybe we could bring back the old three yards and a cloud of dust offense.

And I would say Chicago compounded the mistake by going with a defensive minded coach as the new hire.

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
