Thought the same thing.  I'd rather him play T or C over G...but that's just me.

Although, I will say, his size may not be ideal for Center. He is a rather large man. Usually your C is more squat. Better for leverage.

But, I am a firm believer in the old adage; "If you can play. You can play."

He's a little tall for that position, but man, it just didn't look to me that he had the lower body to be a Guard..again, maybe I'm wrong.  And I agree, if you can play, you can play.

He is 3" taller than Ryan Kalil, but almost the same weight when rookies.

Well if there ever was a time to try stuff out. Now is it.

You mean other than they still don't know where to put him?
They knew we needed a LT last year.  They drafted this guy.  They then proceed to put him at RT  behind Moton.

WTF.
The thought process on the OL has been haphazard and random, at one point even trying Moton at LT.  It was a disaster.

You mean when they drafted an athletic guy who had almost exclusively played LT in college? Then told everyone he was a LG?

Then found out he isn't powerful enough to be am effective OG? Then found out he is a project at LT?

The truth is, Brady looks and plays like a career backup OL. So, really, if they keep him as a versatile backup and try to develop him over time, that's the best thing we can do with him.

If he works out as a starter or backup C, maybe we can cut a guy like Elflein if he doesn't look capable of beating out someone for a starting spot? Who knows.

It makes perfect sense to me.  BC is a pretty smart guy and your center needs to be smart to make the O-line calls.

Giving him reps at Center makes perfect sense.  Campen is tinkering will players and if BC can play center than 2023 we don't have to resign Bozeman and BC still has 2 years on his rookie deal.

It was nice when we had players that could play G and C or G and LT.

It seems more to me that some of these folks just want everything to fail so we can bring in another coach and start all over again.  What's really bothersome is no one knows whether the next coach is going to be any better than the one we got.  NO ONE. They'll speculate but no one is 100% sure of turning things around.

The more he learns. The better it makes us. Just that simple. Especially as you say, he may not even start this year.

He went from the 2nd graded player on our OL to possibly our best backup/depth.  It shows how much we have put into getting this OL better.

Man, they put in the work this offseason. And it shows. This roster is as good as we have had in a long while. If we can get solid QB play? We can be on our way.

giving a young player a little experience to be versatile is not a fumble.

some of yall need to go outside

Considering how long he had him on the bench last season, I've got to look at this a bit askance.

They've looked like they fumbled Brady from the time he was picked, in all honesty. And it ain't the kid's fault.

We have a new OC. We have a new OL coach. Thus a new philosophy for the OL. We have every right to and should expect Campen to try everything especially in OTA's. I'd be disappointed if he didn't. We don't want the same old same old and it's not so stop complaining as if it is. We had 13 different configurations in 17 games last year. If we have to battle through the same injury ratio, let's at least be ready for and conquer it. Brady is a smart guy and we're lucky to have him. As others have said, the more he knows the better he and the team are.

In fact, I hope he doesn't start September 11th and gets spot duty on the FG or punt team. That would tell me Coach Campen has fund the absolute best for each OL position because I feel that highly about Brady.

    • I have more faith in XL improving than I do in Tmac being a true number 1 recuever
    • Round 1. TMac arguably the best WR in the draft Round 2. Scour ton mentioned as a possible 1st round edge.     Texas A&M did not use him the same way Purdue did. After the 2023 season he was listed as a first round grade. I believe had Texas A&M used him like they did at Purdue he never makes it out of round 1. Round 3 Princely Umanmielen, we'll go by Princely.  Another highly graded player we got in a lower round. As the video suggests, even if he plays only on passing down it's a positive. Give him a couple of years to develop a he could be a three down player.  Round 4a Etienne IMO a huge upgrade over Blackshear. I can see him in a similar role as CMC without the heavy workload. He can run in between the tackles and has some shifty moves. Give Canales some flexibility. A fellow huddler pointed out UGA running backs don't see the field if they cannot pick up the blitz. Really good pick. Round 4b Ransom a hard hitting safety that has played three different positions on defense. Great pick Round 5a Cam Jackson a massive NT in round 5. I believe a solid rotational pick in a lower round. We added a beast that could make offenses quiver when he's lined up with Brown. Great Value  Round 5b Evans This is another player that can block and has good hands. He also had better seasons before 2024. As a rookie he's probably leaps and bounds better than Ian Thomas. I think he gives us a three headed monster at TE.  Round 6 Horn Jr. Many believe he's just going to be a KR/PR player. I believe there are going to be packages for him to get on the field as a WR. His speed with TMac and Thielen in the slot could be special. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in training camp. I've watched some film and he is very explosive.  Overall I love our picks. I honestly believe all of them will contribute this season. I don't believe we reached on one player in this draft.  This weekend we get a small look at these rookies
