I mean, you are not wrong here

This is the same f'n mistake all over again. They don't get it! This is just like when we should have just played Will Grier and either found our new Matt Moore or got a top five pick that next draft.

If this happens, the first question asked at the post trade press conference should be:

"In 2020, you evaluated TB, brought him in, and it didn't work out. Last year you traded for Sam, guaranteed his 5th year option, and it didn't work out. Based off of your previous evaluations of retread QB's, what makes this one different and why do you think this one will work?"

followed by:

"Baker is under contract for one year. What are the team's plans for him in the future?"

If this happens the Fitt worship needs to end.  You can't say Fitt had all the control in draft but Rhule overpowered him for this shlt.

Supposedly it's been Fitterer pushing the Baker deal and Rhule hasn't been necessarily on board with the Baker trade.

If true, that is exactly the opposite way I would have predicted that situation to be.

and you know the response would be:

"We will take a look at that when the time comes, right now we are just focused on 2022"

Boy does that ever sound familiar. That you Ron Rivera?

You do realize that the emoji means sarcasm?

Still, notwithstanding the higher-ups not pulling the plug (which could very much be customary in the NFL), at the end of the day, Baker can't blame anyone but himself.

Rhule must trust in his "process" more than Fitterer does. More QB competition is a good thing. Sam Darnold is not threatened by a 3rd round rookie or PJ Walker. But a former number 1 pick that has seen some success in the league? Yeah, I think Sam would find himself actually fighting for his starting job.

Lmfao I love the 180's in this place. He's been getting some top shelf fellatio here for weeks but now he's a bum again.

To be fair, some of us have said for a while that Fitt was either part of the problem or a yes man at best. Either way, it's not good news and he needs to be shown the door when/if Rhule gets axed.

Yes I have been one of them. Though the moves through the offseason have suggested that dynamic has changed somewhat. As for this discussion at hand. If this means Sam Darnold can't hurt us anymore just get it over with.

    • My tailoring green idea was not for him to be the starter but to add some value beyond just a developmental quarterback I think size speed is something Bryce doesn't have he has those and would immediately feel the fourth and one package and possibly red zone and some power packages for us
    • Do you have against Willis I believe you're around when we have the draft with corral and Willis were on the board and me personally I was banging the table for Willis as early as round one but a lot of people thought corral was better but it's amazing with a little coaching and time can do with me I always go with potential and upside versus oh the guy just plays football you know sometimes that's not enough
    • I know or needs and this probably isn't with a lot of people want but if he's available at 19 I don't think you can discount that he would be the best player on the board I think with 43 speed he's as fast as leggette. 63240 something he would stretch the field  Strike fear over the middle of opposing linebackers and also probably cure our long time history of no serviceable tight end since Greg Olsen I think a lot of needs like tackle maybe linebacker could be filled and free agency to the point like they did last year where we fix a lot of this and draft the best player we can on the board.  After his combine and the numbers in the 43-in vertical I'm not sure that he will be available but if he is I bet that he's highly considered what say you
