Oh that wasn't the only bad throw/bad decision, here's 3 more that killed drives that could have kept the defense off the field. Your claim was that it was the defense that lost the game - I say it never comes to that if Jimmy was a better QB.

none of those throws that killed the drives led to points for the Chiefs..... This is not a good example bc there were not reprecussions to those throws.

You think I am sticking up for Jimmy G, and I am not. I am stating that both the offense and defense failed in the 4th qtr. Not just Jimmy G. He wasnt the primary reason they lost. If anything the coaches are to blame, bc KC finally figured them out in the 4th qtr.

Im not protecting Jimmy G.... if anything my subtle point is that Shanahan is overrated....

Honestly I agree with that and that can be said for other coaches as well. But he's still pretty damn good and if we swapped coaches I'd be ecstatic.

I dont know man... I used to think that about Shans... but the guy only has 2 winning seasons out of 5... he is the 49ers version of RR.  He is a sub .500 coach as well. If they cant win with their shiny new QB.... they need to move on from him.

Ooh. Matty baby Corral is so fragile and who knows if he can learn a playbook in a couple months, maybe in a year, two, three, our tiny little guy will grow to be a big ol' NFL QB!

Let's protect him and coddle him and love him. No football for you Matty! No!

Coochie coo!

p.s. everyone needs to calm their tits for the 2022 season. It won’t be pretty, I assure you.

While I agree with you, now is the time to sit back and relax. Enjoy the calm before the storm. Views were shared and then team decisions were made.

I would enjoy a good ride into September before all the Panthers' offseason decisions show themselves as the best separate from the rest.

I gladly want to be wrong, because the Panthers once again did not go the way I wanted them to go. 2015 was the last offseason the Panthers remotely came close to what I targeted in the offseason. Packers, Chiefs, and Ravens front offices have been the teams closest to aligning with my offseason decisions over the past 5 seasons. Expecting the Jags to make a dramatic turn this season ala the Bengals.

Point taken but we're hardly in position to treat other HC's like ugly ducklings. We were swept by the NFCE and we lost to like every head coach that was fired 😂

The Athletic reports third-round rookie Matt Corral struggled before the snap in Panthers minicamp.

"But it’s all the things Corral has to do before the snap – getting the play called, identifying the defense, making checks – that have challenged him after he played in an RPO-heavy offense in college," was the observation of longtime beat writer Joseph Person. Head coach Matt Rhule more or less confirmed that assessment by praising Corral's play once the play goes live. “(OC Ben McAdoo) says this: When the ball’s snapped, Matt’s natural instincts are usually pretty right on." Rhule has said Sam Darnold would be the starter were the season to begin today and has publicly refused to rule out an outside addition. Corral could change the calculus with a lights-out camp, but he does not appear to be a legitimate consideration for Week 1.

Yeah as an OC he was legit, as a HC not so much. Thats my only point of debate in this thread.

He reminds me of Norv Turner.  Norv was a good OC, but as a HC he was only as good as his team was going to take him.  Stealing wins was not his forte, but he could sometimes outcoach himself and post a loss.

I don't how you can't say there were repercussions.

The first throw was on a third down and would have been a easy first down putting them in the red zone. Instead they settle for a FG. If they score a TD there, it's a 14 point lead instead of 10 (and even if they still settle for a FG it's more time coming off the clock with a lead).

I'll give you the second throw since they scored a TD on that drive.

The third one was absolutely critical. It was the first drive after the Chiefs finally scored their first TD since the first quarter to make it a 3 point game. Instead of another first down that keeps the clock moving with a lead with 5 minutes to go in the game, it's a 3 and out that took only one minute off the clock and gave the ball right back to KC who then scored the go ahead TD.

You first said it's the defense's fault which is what I took issue with.
