Considering the investments made in the guys ahead of him and Rhule's commitment to give PJ a shot at getting a job somewhere else (he's really made for the USFL), then Corral's performance today is to be expected and probably is good for him.

He's got some experience in the room around him from actual starters and his OC has played with some of the best in the game. If he's going to have to sit for a season, this is the kind of situation that pans out well for a guy like him.

Then, there's the darker side of this that plays out well for Corral's future. The HC is playing for his own career here. If Rhule doesn't pan out and has to hit the road, Corral hasn't been tampered with much and won't have a bunch of bad habits for the next coach to contend with. He's got two guys ahead of him that are on the ends of their contracts, too, and a new regime could be tempted to cut bait with them next season and give Corral a better shot.

A new coach is probably gonna want his own guy. Not a late 3rd round rookie. This staff is doing corral zero favors. There were some practices where he didn’t get any snaps at all or like two. Meanwhile the two other 3rd round picks on the falcons and titans got tons of snaps in camp and in preseason. They faired much better. I’m not some huge corral fan but they are setting him up to fail.

Corral got anointed today no doubt...hes playing for a coach who values 2 QB that won't be here next year over his development. Sure he was pressing to impress.... Fit saw something in this kid... so...im going with that.... good chance he'll be a solid backup... think hes smart and took it all in today and will be better next go..

He's not being treated like an NFL rookie.

He's being treated like a college freshman.

That all traces from who the head coach is.

That exactly how it looks.  Rhule has too much college in him.  3rd year in the NFL and like Rivera loves him so veterans.

On the flipside of that, it strikes me that Rhule is coaching like a guy who's guaranteed to keep his job for at least another few years.

Mind you, I don't actually believe he's guaranteed anything beyond this season.

100 percent, everyone keeps stating that a new coach will bring in his own QB… well Rhule isn’t exactly coaching like it’s a make or break season for him.

David Teppers arrogance and pride will ensure he gets at least five years.... If you don't want to wait two years for him to get fire and likely four to see success as a Panthers fan it's probably best to just suck it up and hope he can turn it around.

    • Not totally inaccurate, haha Except that kid wasn't as excited as I was.  I was yelling louder, and more, and running around the room in circles until I almost passed out from exhausting and was trying to catch my breath for a good 10 minutes because I'm way too old to be doing that, LOLOL Oh, and I tweaked a muscle in my shoulder from all the punching the air I was doing too. For as awesome as that pick was for me, it really screwed me up for a few days between my shoulder and lost voice (Wrexham securing back-to-back-to-back promotions Saturday afternoon contributed to that though too).
    • Getting Pierce jr isn’t forfeiting the pick they just had 2 1sts this year.
    • Full disclosure and the real reason.... I'll be seeing my Nephew in basically one month from today, and while I've gotten him stuff from my other teams the past year, I hadn't been willing to saddle him with Panthers stuff yet, that's now changed lol. So if the jersey would get to me before I see him, I'd get that and him his first Panthers onesie/shirt so I can get a picture of us together in them. If it wouldn't get to me by then, I'd just wait to get the one I prefer.  So yea, my rush is really just about trying to get a picture of myself in it with my Nephew in Panthers gear too.
