I’m a little disappointed a coach as highly regarded as Campen hasn’t told Rhule to stop juggling the OL this late in the preseason.

How do you know he isn't the one doing the juggling??

Where are you getting this BS narrative from??

Biggest upgrade is experience..

The experience of the staff will be more of a help then anything else done this offseason..

Rhule's major mistake was having so much inexperience on the staff.. Added to his inexperience was a major mismanagement...

Fair it could be campen doing it but he hasn’t been here the last two years and it was a problem then too.

Are you sure??

Because I remember last year differently.. There was no competition and jobs were giving freely without "juggling" .. How that workout??

Eflin, Irving, and Darnold were giving jobs with no thought of competition or letting the better players prove it...

Did I remember this wrong??

I can't say much about ranks but I will say Wilks and Campen should be regarded as high quality assistants.

I hesitate to put McAdoo on the list but he's a pretty solid OC.. again... go back and watch our 2015 game or even the highlights vs the Giants. Adjustments shouldn't be a problem after the 2nd quarter. The execution is another subject.

And I have to admit the unit that impressed me the most with its growth so far (only a one game sample) was hands down the ST department. Chris Tabor is proving to be a good move by our FO. I'm just getting familiar.

using -2 to 10 scale

Head Coach: Matt Rhule- 3

Offensive Coordinator: Ben McAdoo- 5.5
Quarterbacks Coach: Sean Ryan- 4(maybe my biggest disappointment)
Pass Game Specialist: Matt Lombardi- too new INC
Assistant Head Coach, Offense / Runningbacks Coach: Jeff Nixon- baylor 4
Wide Receivers Coach: Joe Dailey- too new/young, didnt like the hire INC

Tight Ends Coach: Kevin M Gilbride-5
Offensive Line Coach: James Campen-6.5(after GB had a hard time)
Assistant Offensive Line Coach: Robert Kugler- ??? too new as well

Defensive Coordinator: Phil Snow- baylor 6
Defensive Line Coach: Paul Pasqualoni- too old 4
Assistant Defensive Line Coach: Terrance Knighton- solid former player 5
Pass Rush Specialist: Don Johnson- 5 old as well, but the role doesnt need a young buck
Assistant Head Coach, Defense: Al Holcomb- big fan 7
Defensive Run Game Coordinator / Linebackers Coach: Mike Siravo- dont know enough, if forced like many others 5
Defensive Pass Game Coordinator / Secondary Coach: Steve Wilks-8.2
Cornerbacks Coach: Evan Cooper- baylor 4

Special Teams Coordinator: Chris Tabor- 8.2
Assistant Special Teams Coordinator: Ed Foley- baylor 4

Two leaders are Tabor and Wilks, then theres loads of 5s and baylor numbers. Still going into this season, its improved from last yr and about the best given Rhules hot seat.

I can only really comment on McAdoo & Wilks... 8.5/10

Wilks has a good reputation and I'm happy to have him here. Much like our old RB coach Skipper, Wilks really connects with his players. To that point - CJ Henderson has been getting a lot of acknowledgement this camp on looking rejuvenated and performing like a 1st rounder - CJ has credited his relationship with Wilks for this second wind. I think this is the best DB group we've ever had and I'm excited to see what he and Phil Snow can do with it.

McAdoo being the former HC of the Giants... a team I remember very well playing vs our Panthers during their prime run, and I recall watching their o-line get absolutely decimated on every snap. It was like watching a Canadian High School football team vs Alabama. Literally on every play our D-line pushing their O-line INTO Manning for sack after sack... I think being a HC during that type of adversity (much like our previous season with the 31st ranked o-line) puts us ahead of where Joe Brady could ever have been prepared for going into his 3rd season. I've heard he has a good offensive mind.. I'm excited to see what he can do with a much better roster and what should be at least a middle of the pack o-line this time around.

I've been a panthers fan since '05.... and much like those '05l '08, '13, '18 teams.... this one feels special.

I like what I saw on Camp Confidential from Chris Tabor.  Dude has some juice, seems like he can really connect with the guys.  Results on the field (what little we've seen) also seem to reflect that he's making strides.  Oh, and shocker, NFL experience.

He has a personality but that clip in Camp Confidential was a head-shaker for me.  At this level we really have to "test" players with a 5 easy question on how many yards the ball has to travel on a kickoff?

I know it was an early am meeting but they really had to edit it to show any player interaction.  And the part about betting what time as assistant would drag his ass in was cringe-worthy, one-sided and smelled like scripted filler.

Incomplete for all. The coaches that need to stand out are OLine, DLine, TE and WR.

I don't think our WRs or TEs are all that, which is why having Marshall tend towards bust is a blow. If the coaches can help, we may have an offense.

    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks are Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team) seem to be locks. Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
    • I had this discussion with my buddy yesterday afternoon. If we start this season very slow(especially with the schedule being what it is) and then "rally" in the second half to get to 4-7 wins, I am already gonna be pretty heated at the staff overall. I know we are a very bad roster but I am not gonna keep excusing these slow season starts WITH late season rallies. That's a coaching staff problem, IMO. It's more excusable to just stink gate to gate, IMO. At least you can understand why.
