Will David Tepper admit he made a mistake when he finally fires Matt Rhule?

why would he?  you make decisions. some pan out. some don't. when they don't you just move on and go a different direction. it's just the nature of business. guy wouldn't even owe us an explanation. it's his team.

I was about to post basically the same thing. Hopefully, we make a run at the playoffs or at least be competitive. The fans, especially PSL owners/attending games definitely deserve better.

I disagree with that. If he had fired Rhule after last season I might have agreed. 2020 showed showed some promise but 2021 was a disaster of a season from top down.

I would say that if you're an owner, and you fire your head coach after 3 years of a 5 year top 10 pay contract, that's an implicit admission of a mistake. We're unlikely to ever get an explicit admission, but as others have said, I don't really care much about explicit admissions, for people in positions of power, that almost never happens. The implicit admission that would come with firing him is about all we could expect.

I don't need to see him prostrate himself

Definitely thought this said something different at first.  Either way, I agree.

He won’t apologize.  It’d be nice to see him take responsibility, but at the end of the day I just want a competent HC

To be fair, Tepper kinda sorta halfway a little bit subtly hinted at the possibility that maybe he potentially might have could have kept Marty Hurney around just a little too long.

He does get how he's perceived.

Tepper totally gets how he is perceived.  He admits to getting on social media and twitter to read about himself and the Panthers.

As much as I'd love to see Tepper admit he's messed up, it will never happen.  Like others have said.  It's not really a matter of ego for Tepper, but a matter of professionalism.  Can you think of any other time this has happened in the NFL?

Firing the guy implies it was a mistake.  Piling on and saying what a mistake it was to hire this person is just unprofessional, and really buries them when they're just trying to move on and find their next job.  Doesn't really accomplish anything.

Firing him is admitting it’s a mistake in my opinion.

true and that's all i would need to see or hear, that he moved on from rhule. that's the only important thing. we all know why he would do it and the reason he waited was because he didn't want to give up too early on a long term investment. he took a risk. that's what business people do. that's what owners do. they take risks and it's kind of the nature of risks that they don't often pan out...in fact more often than not they don't work out. you've got to be ok with this or you'll never go anywhere. and as a spectator, you have to be ok with it too or you'll drive yourself nuts.

    • It's true, but don't forget those metrics and how Bryce statistically was near the bottom of nearly every one of them. He should markedly improve (I mean, how can he not), but how much so is anyone's guess at the moment. Is he too short, noodle-armed and inaccurate to be a professional QB? That's still the question. Has he been "Kerred?" I hope not, but he wasn't particularly accurate from pressured pockets or clean pockets as the author said. We can only wait and hope that the new coaches can help Bryce by putting him in a better situation.
    • If and when Koochie is given the keys he will be a top 5 goalie in this league.  I believe in my heart he is the guy. Home grown Vs free agent pickups like all of our last goalies
