Really happy all those former panthers coaches and front office staff in Buffalo are doing well

So we're not the only team that does that.

I think there are very few coaches that can resist using true freak shows.

a couple RBs fumbled early in the game too.  So they went with the sure thing.

Do you think it’s possible for Rhule and his staff to put players on this roster in positions that make it harder for them to succeed?

Of course. We've heard the whispers of him micromanaging. I hope we turn things around this season though. I would rather see him succeed than us fail and continue to tumble. But I don't think the odds of a sudden turnaround are all that great either.

I’ve seen evidence with this coaching staff (for me offensive line most apparently) but also every staff we have had, of players being used out of position and/or in a way that makes it hard for them to succeed. It’s easy to see this because Rhule and co had 10 wins in two years.

Because of this, I apply that reasoning to these players we pick up from shitty teams, but were valuable players on draft day.

It’s possible another staff simply didn’t develop or use them well. (Maybe the jags guys)

It’s also possible they weren’t as good as they draft stock. (Obviously Sam)

Thats all I’m saying.

I get and respect your opinion too though.

I think he is a lifer Defensive Coordinator, not a true head coach.

Rivera and Fox are about the same, but If I had to choose between those two, I would probably go Fox because he at least gave a damn about the oline.

Yeah. I enjoyed the game. Buffalo looks really good. Especially their defensive front.

As far as using your studs, that is what they are for. You don't pay them money to put the on the shelf no matter how capable the backups are.

Yeah, I was never a don’t run Cam guy.  That was the condition I had of drafting him.  Run him and let him be special…..and accept he won’t have a long pocket passer career.

And while I don’t want CMC playing preseason ball, we paid him a freak a poo ton of money.  CMC should get an absurd amount of touches.    No point paying a RB and not using him heavily.   I generally prefer not paying RBs but what is done is done.

    • From what i see, Canales offense requires a QB that is willing to take chances to maximize the offense. XL is also the kind of receiver that needs a qb to be risky to bring out his full potential. Its just a matter of if Bryce is gonna be that QB.
    • Baker just played how Baker played.... everywhere but here. He is a risk taking gunslinger.  Always has been.  And last year was asked to be what he was.   Geno Smith was the best deep ball passer in the NFL his comeback season.  Wasn't even close that year.  Again, that's the type passer Canales has always been around in the offenses he has been part of.  The pass game that compliments the stubborn run is the deep chunk play pass game.   And that was his first investment with XL.  My continued point, is the same as going into last season.  It's a bad marriage going in.  The QB doesn't fit the scheme.  Again.  Carrol/Fox/Ron....all paired up their boring football with risk taking QBs.  And again, I'm fine if that is where we are going.  It's not my preference but that's not my argument.  I'm saying if we are doing that, we need a QB that matches it.
    • I guess you missed the point. His rushing attack was dead last yet his team still performed. That’s not Fox/Rivera ball. His QB also had a career year. Remember the same QB that played for us in the same division and was so bad he was cut?  Carroll coached after Lynch as well. In fact Canales was more involved in the more recent offense with Geno Smith and a good rushing attack. People are taking him wanting a rushing attack and assuming that means we are shutting down our passing attack. Again many of the top offenses like SF, Miami, and Detroit featured strong rushing attacks.
