Easy fix here, draft Bryce Young and hire Ken Dorsey

1A) Stroud then Young

1B) Levis then McCall

2) These need to prove themselves this season. Ward and Penix (he may be a one year wonder). Hall (BYU).

Still a long season to go, but this is how I am seeing this class so far. Someone is going to try to “Josh Allen” Richardson from Florida.

As for coach, I’m not 100% sold on Dorsey. He basically inherited the top offense and arguably top QB this year. I’m not holding it against him, but it’s nothing that impressive.

If Rhule is still here next year and that is unfortunately a likely outcome, we will be having this same conversation a year from now except the names will be Caleb Williams and as much as it pains me to say, Drake Maye.

That's the QB draft class to land a franchise player.

Caleb Williams & Drake Maye >> Stroud, Young, Levis

I'd be thrilled with Will Anderson this year. Consider trading Burns for a 1 & 3/4 in 2024 and then we have ammo to move up for one of those two QBs (if we aren't in that draft position already).

We go through this every year. Howell and Rattler were suppose to be the top of a solid class. “Tank for Howell” then after the season it was the 2023 class is loaded! Now it’s look at the USC and UNC QB the next year… We can literally do this every year. If we wait long enough we can just draft Chosen Newton!

Exactly. But don't worry, Mitch Trubisky will be a free agent in the offseason, he just needs another chance on a better team!

Same phenomenon every year. When your a top prospect people nit pick every little thing the year prior to the draft. It’s why Herbert fell to 6.

Bryce Young reminds me of the Charlotte kid, Chris Leak(?). I think he played for florida. Anyways, he was the “next big thing”, dominated in college and HS, too small for the pros. No matter how good Young is with Alabama you just can’t hide his size. He will get murdered in the NFL.

Young has some great arm talent and with recent successes of Murray and Russ in today’s NFL I’d imagine he still gets drafted early. I don’t believe Leak was even drafted. Leak didn’t have that great of an arm. Weak arm for the NFL plus small frame is a bad combo.

Tepper can make all of this right if he does the following:

Let Dan Morgan handle the interview / pitch to bring Ken Dorsey back home as the HC. They have relationship, he's ready and worthy obviously.

Draft Bryce Young with our high pick, give up whatever you have to to move up. These Bama QB's went from being unreliable to the factory.

It's the only way to right this ship.

No.  Sean Payton and whatever he wants to do.

To be fair, Drake Maye looks pretty damn good.

    • He can’t even learn to run routes. No chance in hell he can do both that and pick up blocking schemes
    • Well he had essentially a 70% completion rate for almost three thousand yards.  Biggest issues were awkward and inconsistent release.  I wouldn't call arm strength bad, but not great.
    • I see him being better and most of that is a few downfield passes that were seemingly non existent.    But it is what is around him that has dictated the trajectory more than the quarterbacking. He is game manager level and unable to dictate to defenses.  And even if I am wrong and he is the reason we ‘upwarded’, we are bumping our heads on the ceiling and only making meager gains. If it is an incline it is awfully shallow degree wise. Like a finance graph that tracks your progress and hovers around the rate of inflation. Barely breaking even.  Is that where you want your money?  We make up these deadlines expectations and generally he does the minimum of what he needs to do to hang around.    It does not encourage me to believe that when we get into a game against a good run d that we cannot break down with our run game, to believe that we can pivot to the air and successfully counter their strategy.  But they run it back again. Of course I am gunshy of a repeat of the same thing we have watched for three years.    oh, and yes his durability is his most impressive positive for my money. I fear the other shoe dropping on that and the contractual consequences that will follow.   Last  of all, too late to edit my mistake here but would like to acknowledge it: the last three years has done very little to convince me that I was not wrong in not wanting him. One too many “not”s.
