Does Rhule Have A Plan?

You mean Phil Snow had a plan, to run a 3-3 and it has not worked. How can you have 5 guys in coverage and still give up this many passing first downs? Rhule is a puppet, Snow is the master. Unfortunately for us, Snow is a baiter.

Hey Rhule said they put 5 guys in Zone so they can see the ball in front of them, therefor intercept the ball easier. We have zero interceptions so far, and two losses where jag QB's carved us up 4-5 yards at a time whenever they needed to move the sticks.

What JStew said on the podcast is correct. This team has no identity. With Rivera and Fox, it was smash mouth run game, pass to support and hard hit defense. Like it or not, we knew what to expect every week.

Dan Campbell in Detroit in his opening interview said they were going to be an in your face, aggressive team. Day 1, he set his identity as the leader of the team.

Year 3. What do we have? The Brand. Yeah. Everyone knows whatever the hell that is supposed to be. We're run one week, pass the next. 5 QBs in 35 games. 3rd OC. Guys out of position. Players have to execute, but they need confidence knowing what exactly they are trying to do. This team looks lost and that sits squarely on the shoulders of Rhule.

Its simple, no matter how good your CBs are if a QB has time to stand in the pocket with no pressure he is going to pick you apart.

No reason we should be rushing 3 with the backend group we have, Snow has no clue what he is doing.

we have a weak pass rush.  And our best pass rusher was playing coverage on like 1/3 of his snaps last week lol.

the league is designed for CBS to lose the battle given a QB has time.

Historically the Panthers have liked to drop DEs into coverage. For instance under Fox we would use a fire zone blitz and drop Peppers into coverage, and he got a pick 6 once which was pretty thrilling to watch. It was also just hard to get the ball over him because of his wingspan and leaping ability.

Our defense bailed us out against the Giants for as long as they could, but the Giants are terrible so not much of an accomplishment.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if it matters whether he still has a plan or not. The reality is Rhule just doesn't have the intelligence to be an NFL coach.

Depending on what level your school is at in college, you're generally playing checkers or low-level chess. But the NFL game is populated with chess masters, some of them elite chess masters. There are a dozen subtle things going on with every play and every game plan.

You can't just go at that kind of complexity with checkers level skills and expect to win.

Just now, Julio said:

Yes of course, we are a run first team and we have to run the ball.

UPDATE 2022: It’s a passing league, so passing wins games according to Rhule.

Which is a great thing to say after you spent the offseason building your offense around the idea you were gonna be run heavy...

Im honestly baffled at his ideology, if there is any? Why hire a Mike McCarthy disciple if you were so hung up on the running game? Now we are moving goal posts to hire an OC because no decent one wanted anything to do with us.

The lack of running the ball and getting the pressure off Rodgers is what got McCarthy canned in GB.

Because he had to hire somebody and McAdoo was one of the few guys that was interested.

I don't really think Rhule's thought process goes deeply enough to ask the questions you're asking here.
