McAdoo Predictable

Not relieving McAdoodoo of his negligence here, but again, this dysfunction has been present under Rhule every season.

I cannot buy that McAdoodoo, with previous experience as an NFL OC and HC, would not catch this or think he could slide by with it purposely...  no matter how inept he may or may not have been in his professional coaching career, he's been on this level and would notice this stuff quickly...

Again, my suspicion is that Rhule has a specific idea for how the offense should be ran and only allows the OCs to operate within that very limited scope.  Even when we dumped Brady and went to Rhule's HS Sweetheart for that few games last year, there was no significant change in the philosophy or playcalling.  It has felt, like for 3 years, outside of that first 3 games last season, that every week teams have known exactly what plays we were running before we ran them...  hell, teams have even come out and said just that.  Remember Cam's game in Miami last season where everyone was dumping on him?  Explain how Miami's defensive front knew exactly when he was going to throw and where to deflect that crazy amount of passes at the line they did.  And then go back and look at the picks...  they weren't on Cam, the DBs were literally running their routes for them and cut them off.  Also, remember Robbie complaining that teams were sitting on everything underneath last season?  And again, were on our third OC in 3 years now under Rhule and it all looks the same.  Just as predictable...

But regardless, this is beyond embarrassing.  No way would I have ever imagined at any point that our team would reach this level of amateurism.  Smh...

I did a quick scan back on the Browns game, and it's not *every* single play.  It is however such a high percentage it can't help but be noticed by anyone looking for these kinds of things.  I guess it seems pretty obvious to me, but one would think that an NFL team needs to show multiple plays and play types out of their formation in order to keep a defense guessing.

Something like this seems super simple to fix as well.  Just change CMC's alignment slightly in either direction to obfuscate.

    • I think people forget that by his last season Steve Smith had the ass and he played like it - and for no really good reason other than that other stars were emerging on the team and he didn't want to share the spot light.  He was more of a locker room distraction than he was worth. He went on to have great performances with the Ravens' but G-man made the right move allowing him to move on from here.  I personally think it was addition by subtraction and we don't have a super bowl run with Smith on the roster. Steve Smith remains a narcissist who I've never seen internalize his own culpability when it comes to his relationships with others - it's always somebody else's fault as to why he was forced to act like an asshole. This video is a product ad.  I'm cringed that either of these two Panther greats are party to it.
    • I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.
    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
