NFL and NFLPA have released the results of their investigation into the Tua injury.

https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-nflpa-joint-statement-on-investigation-into-handling-of-dolphins-qb-tua-tago

"While the investigation determined that the team medical staff and unaffiliated medical professionals followed the steps of the Protocol as written, the NFL and NFLPA agree that the outcome in this case is not what was intended when the Protocols were drafted."

Looks like Tua was not concussed as had been stated, but there was obviously something wrong. Expect them to take a serious look into this during the off-season and expect it to get redone.

I do expect them to start watching these guys with far more scrutiny than before now, and rightfully so. The 2nd instance very much reminded me of seeing Luke on the cart.

get ready to have influential players senselessly removed from games to save billionaires liability dollars

Each team will employ someone to watch the other teams players and trigger concussion protocols 100%

Wait…didn’t someone get canned over this?

If they followed protocol as written, then they did their job, and got fired because of an uncontrollable “outcome” of Tua's head bouncing off the turf.

“outcome was not what was intended when protocols were drafted”

“decisions need to be made on how bad it looks and how much criticism we stand to receive, regardless of the medical doctors assessment”

The medical staff involved determined that the Gross Motor Instability ("GMI") suffered by Mr. Tagovailoa was not neurologically caused. They concluded the player's back injury was the cause of his observed instability.  However, the team physician and UNC did not conduct an examination of Mr. Tagovailoa's back during the concussion examination, but instead relied on the earlier examination conducted by other members of the medical staff.

Well obviously the dude was concussed and it wasn’t covered under the NFL parameters of what a “concussion “ is. That is the scary thing. And that happens every week in the NFL.

He wasn't obviously concussed but there was obviously something going on. Adrenaline can make you capable of things that normally don't happen. Having something tap your spinal cord can cause jelly legs, I can attest to that one personally. He shouldn't have been back out, but he wasn't necessarily concussed.

The outcome was not intended??? This is what you get when a business police's itself. He was clearly injured, the tape shows that. He clearly also didn't need to be on the field. Hell guys leave for 4 weeks for a hamstring injury. Tua could barley walk and they rushed him out there.

    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
    • I mean there is relevance to that. But I think much of it has to do with the fact that he is clearly likeable. But does that translate to a coach taking his position to the next level like those that have had staying power for many years like Spoelstra? And not for nothing but does how much someone is liked even matter? Across leagues with the Panthers Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney were universally well liked by players. Dave Canales is very well liked. I say you are what your record says. And the record says you got your ass handed to you by a fellow expansion team in the Magic in a game that was over at halftime and that same team went toe to toe with our nemesis who has been handing us L's for over a year now. And if Bam doesn't get his leg swept by LaMelo do we even get past the Heat? Again. It just all boils down to personal standards. I think newer and younger fans will love this. I just want to actually win a real playoff game fam 🤷‍♂️
