Yeah, there is no 'all of us' when talking about Rhule's hiring. Many of us were skeptical at best and strongly averse at worst. This trainwreck was visible from day one.

Man with that kind of insight you should be in an NFL Front Office rather than posting on a message board.

It was seen as a coup by everyone. It didn't work out - hindsight is always 20-20.

No, it wasn't and no, it didn't take incredible insight to conclude that hiring a middling (in the sense that he couldn't beat real competition) college coach like Rhule to a 7-year contract with complete control of an NFL team was a bad idea. Perhaps the rose-colored glasses were too strong to remember 'the haters' but it was absolutely a questionable hire at best, and flat out dumb at worst, and plenty of us called it out.

Not that I wanted or needed to hear from Rhule, but the fact he ran off without an exit presser is just another example of why he can’t lead grown men. Paper tiger

Maybe he wasn't given the opportunity to have an exit presser? He barely got to speak to the team before he had to clean out his office.  I'm sure any reporter could roll up to his house and stick a microphone and camera in his face to get his response to being let go if they wanted to.

Pretty sure he squirmed his way out of Temple and Baylor without press conferences either. Pretty sure he just sent out a group text to Baylor players after he took the Panthers job. He left Temple for Baylor after signing a 6 year extension with Temple. He's a snake

Was it?  From what I remember, a lot of us were hesitant about hiring a coach with little or no NFL experience.

It absolutely wasn't, and the media hype around him was just incredibly dumb. McVay fever at its finest.

No it wasn't, and it wasn't considered a "coup" by anyone other than the fanboys. There were many, many many detractors.

I wasn't real high on hiring a college coach but I figured I could live with it.

When they announced that contract and his having full control though, I cringed 😳

Yeah, its been a while ago, and I am getting older, so the memory isn't what it once was.  But from what I remember, there was more enthusiasm about the Rivera hire than Rhule. While he certainly had his supporters, I seem to remember a lot of complaining about it.
