If they’re really turning down at least 2 firsts for him, they must have some assurances from him or his agent that he’s planning on signing here. If not it’s really dumb to keep him.

Assurances at this point mean about as much as a 1000 dollar bill. In other words, they are probably dumb...unless they're simply playing high stakes chicken.

Much like I thought cmac to the bills would automatically stream line them into the SB, putting Burns on phillys defense does the same for them

I know! Just imagine what a combo of Reddick and Burns would look like!

If Carolina doesn't trade Burns then they will lose him after 2023 rookie contract expires.  The guy isn't going to sign a contract and will walk.  If Burns is here after the 2022 trade deadline where teams are looking for a Super Bowl push type trade and are willing to give 2 first round picks (which I don't see anyone doing), then he will be here through 2023 and walk in 2024.  Carolina will have nothing to show for him.  Again, I don't see anyone trading 2 firsts, so enjoy Burns for the next year and a half until he has finished serving his prison sentence in Carolina.

You don’t agree with the Panthers OR the team offering 2 firsts which is clearly a team in the playoff race. The Eagles signed Reddick who was great at sacks and not as good against the run, they seem to be doing ok right?

The Eagles have a very good football team around them. The Panthers do not. I don’t agree with the Panthers passing on the 2 first round draft picks

2 firsts have already been offered according to very reliable sources. Care to revise your statement?

Why would you want to do this?

To get you the best coach possible. To get you the most young talent possible.

Add those to the picks we already got and get a great coach and a clean slate with a lot of picks to build his team with.

Don't stop at Burns, either. Whoever will get you multiple picks, as long as they aren't OL, you trade them  no one outside of the OL is untouchable.

Someone wants Jaycee and is willing to give us a first and more? You trade him.

Someone wants DJ and is willing to part with another first and more or a couple 2nd rounders? You trade him.

Seriously, the more picks you can come away with, the better.

One way or another, this team is going to be completely unrecognizable next year...and that's a good thing.

Makes sense.  The more picks in 2023 the better.  I'm not talking rounds 4-7.  I am talking rounds 1-3.  These are the rounds where you can get starter talent.

I am in agreement with a couple of the other posters.  If Philly is in the Burns sweepstakes than their two first round picks puts them at the head of the line.

The other players you mentioned we MUST get good value for them.  I don't want to see DJ or Horn go for any less than what we drafted them plus some.  Moore and Horn are 1st rounders.  I want 1st rounders and at minimum one additional day 2 pick.

If you are going to gut this team and rebuild.  Than, I would like most of those picks this year and some next.

Just imagining our own 1st, Philly's two 1st, two additional 1st for Horn and DJ.  That's 5 first rounders.  Currently two 2nds, three 3rds (Horn and DJ) and our lower round picks.  You could take a couple of those 1st rounders, trade down for even more picks.  We would make a huge haul as long as Fitterer doesn't pull a Hurney with the 2nd rounders. 😁

That said we would be looking at another losing season in 2023 only because we have so many inexperienced players but going into 2024. Watch out.

Reliable source is full of poo.  No way the Panthers are this stupid.  Oh wait a minute, is Tepper still the owner?

Adam Shefter not generally known to be full of poo. Let me make sure I have this straight, you're claiming to know better than Shefter, with years of experience and contacts all over the league, whether any team has offered two firsts to the Panthers or not?

Let me be sure I'm clear on your position here.

I'd rather spread it out over multiple seasons - and not trade players like Horn and Moore.

Your not taking a 2024 and 2025 first from the Rams, for instance - first of all the value of a 2024 first is not equal to that of a 2023 first, and they are essentially late round picks. I think I saw someone posted comparable trades and the players Jacksonville and the Jets got and it was bad. So For example, I think Fiterrer would think a lot harder if it was say, the eagles pick in the top 10 right now and next years first than 2 late round firsts.
