I don't care for baseball, but I like baseball movies because they boil baseball down to the bits where something happens. 

Major League, Field of Dreams, The Natural, Bull Durham, hell they even made a movie about baseball statistics watchable (admittedly Michael Lewis is one of my favorite writers, but the movie was objectively good in it's own right)
